If you've beaten them before. I dont think most people can beat older games in only an hour on their first try.

There is that caveat, and also that I don't have that many difficult games on my list. Plus, most of the games listed play like notes on sheet music for me.

But mutha sucka Bayou Billy is ridiculously relentless. It's one of the few games that still makes me furious.

You have no clue how many times I briefly thought about throwing my NES out the window while playing that game. It's one game I think needs remastering with cut scenes, something I usually don't like in remakes. But after levels that test your faith, give us more than a guy with a cigar laughing.

And I, the same watching yours. Seeing those NES games are great. I hope to return to the older stuff soon, since I only have to focus on Zork this month on TR.

You say that, but Zork can be extremely time consuming if you end up getting into it.

25. Sonic Colors (Wii) 9/4/2013

Almost two months since I've really had the chance to sit down and play/beat a game from start to finish. Thanks life! :)

Sonic Colors, I honestly say might rank up there as one of my favorite Sonic the Hedgehog games. I know a few members are fond of it, and I honestly fell in love with it. The stages are cleverly designed, vary in length, and the alien powers keep the gameplay fresh. The soundtrack is greatly composed by Hideaki Kobayashi and others--so there's that feeling of familiarity (do others get that sense) when you're hearing a composer who's produced for other games you've played. Last, for a four year old game on the Wii, it's very easy on the eyes. The Wii component cables or Wii-U upscaling will give you the best performance.

I'd honestly give Sonic Colors a 9.4/10. There were a few frustrating stages that required memorizing a pattern or a gimmick, but the learning curve wasn't too steep. This game is actually pretty cheap too, so if you're looking for an enjoyable and affordable platformer, give it a spin!

this is one I def plan to get to at some point. How did it compare to Sonic Generations? I loved Generations. Also, how different are the Wii and DS versions of Colors?

Correction: old action games are fast to beat.

Generations is a lot better. Though I played Colors after it, so that might've had an effect on my enjoyment. First few levels were a blast, after that things got stale, and by the end of it I was forcing myself to play it till the end (not that the main game is long or anything). It's mostly same as 3D levels of Generations, but I just didn't like it much beyond the first few levels. The levels felt too long and too repetitive and all around not as well designed or visually pleasing as Generations' 3D levels from what I remember. You can't expect a Wii game to look as good as a PC/360/PS3 game (though parts of it are very nice looking for a Wii game), but I'm not just talking about graphics here. Lack of detail, just boring and bland looking level design. But it's been over a year or so since I played it so maybe I remember it to be worse than it really is.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

1. Borderlands 2- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
2. God of War: Ascension- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
3. Actraiser- SNES
4. Borderlands- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
5. Super Castlevania IV- SNES
6. Final Fantasy VII- PS1/PSN
7. Super Metroid- SNES
8. The Last of Us- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
9. Far Cry 3- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
10. Bioshock- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
11. Journey- PS3

I've been wanting to play Journey since late last year, mainly because it is different than other games and even won 2012 GOTY from many sites. Honestly though, I thought the game was a bit overrated. It's a good, short, pretty game but I don't know if I would call it one of the best on the PS3. I did like that it was really up to your interpretation on what the "journey" meant.
