Or not. But I think the net was made for lists.
1. The Sting
2. The Godfather
3. Casablanca
4. Duck Soup
5. Empire Strikes Back
6. Raiders of the Lost Ark
7. Wizard of Oz
8. Day the Earth Stood Still
9. Mononoke-Hime/Princess Mononoke
10. Its a Wonderful Life

Where to begin with this one? The lack of memorable characters, the useless commentary on automated warfare, the ridiculous murder plot, the silly final showdown. The reboot just lacks soul

And Robocop. The Murphy Movie is no fun.Pulsar_t wrote: The reboot just lacks soul

I don't think I can put into words how I feel about this movie, aside from that this is a positive review.

Delicatessen is an awesome movie.

Split Second is a bit hard to find. First, it is only available in Fullscreen. There apparently has never been a Widescreen home release. Second, it got a limited DVD run, so prices run up over $100. Apparently it got a release in other regions, namely Australia, but I've no idea on that. I ended up borrowing a bootleg copy from the guy at my video rental place. I walked in and asked for it, and he said, "We don't officially have that...but you can borrow my copy." Nice guy.
So in this film, set in the far future of 2008(came out in 1992), London is in the throes of global warming, which has led to massive and constant flooding as well as a killer rat infestation. And demons from Hell that eat human hearts for their DNA apparently. Now burned out cop-on-the-edge Harley Stone(Hauer) has been teamed up with nerdy Oxford-graduate detective Dick Durkin to take down the monster that murdered his partner five years ago...whose wife Stone happened to have been sleeping with.
Yeah, not exactly award winning material, but I was kept entertained. It's low budget, but it also has the likes of Pete Postlethwaite and Alun Armstrong. If you can track down a copy(without paying the DVD's expensive price tag), and you like cheap scifi(cyberpunk)/horror, give it a shot.

Wow. I thought I watched some crazy stuff. You take the cake on this one, Ack, and I yield to your very awesome, always entertaining movie selecting abilities.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Haha, thanks. I try to find things that will entertain me but also really enjoy the obscure. For instance, I'm thinking I may track down Hauer's Yojimbo-knock off film about different generations of killer robots fighting each other over arms caches so they can be better at killing humans, in a film with the World's Greatest Title: OMEGA DOOM. Or maybe I'll watch a bunch of Star Wars wannabes like Starcrash, Battle Beyond the Stars, Star Odyssey, Starship Invasions, Spacehunter, Message from Space, Galaxina, Brazilian Star Wars, Turkish Star Wars, etc. That list goes on a ways. And then there is my now ongoing quest to finally watch Rawhead Rex. Someday. Someday...prfsnl_gmr wrote:Wow. I thought I watched some crazy stuff. I actually saw this in the theater in 3D as a kid. Molly Ringwald as a teenage brat!Ack wrote:Spacehunter

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
to satiate my obsession w/ The State a bit, my wife picked up some of the DVD's I was missing. Got season one of Stella (I had the live show, and the internet skits but not the actual Comedy Central show) along with the Wainy Days season 1-4 DVD and Michael & Michael Have Issues season 1 - both of which I didn't even know were on DVD!
