What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

The answer is Imperial Guard with atleast three Basilisks.
Imperial Guard used to be my main army but they get gibbed way too easily now that everyone in my local meta fields Tau and Eldar. I used to think Ignores Cover was supposed to be a rare ability...

These days I play Sisters of Battle. Not a competitive army by any stretch of the imagination but it makes for fun games because A) Most people have never even seen a complete Sisters army much less played against one and B) Most people have no clue how to play against one.
Reminds me of when I use to play Chaos Dwarves. My main army was Skaven, but those Dwarves were insanely overpowered (and discontinued so worth a helluva lot more).

Because you enjoy it?

Reason enough for me.
For almost everything, I'd agree. But 40K tournaments are brutal and most people are pretty useless for the next day or so. The last tournament I played in, I loudly declared (with a hoarse voice) that I'd never do another one again. I was tired, hungry, had a terrible headache, and deliriously mind numb.

...That declaration was only two weeks ago. You can imagine the amount of shit I'm going to get!
Yeah I attend, though it's been a bit, magic tournaments. GPs are large 2 day events that can drain you. But worth it and usually fun.

I briefly (very briefly) considered getting into Fantasy but then I met my fiance and my time for the hobby plummeted. Also, finding out that Chaos Dwarves have all but been Squat'd killed my interest. So instead, I just casually play 40K and maintain a pretty big Imperial Guard army along side a small Deathwing Army and my Sisters of Battle.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I sold most of my Fantasy and 40k stuff to buy Pokemon cards from Japan to sell so I could buy arcade games. I really enjoyed the worlds, but the games were soso. Honestly I got alot more fun out of Necromunda and Mordheim than Fantasy and 40k. Though Spacehulk will always be my favorite part of the entire metaverse.

That's kind of the problem I have these days. I love the story lines (especially Gaunt's Ghosts) and the setting. The current edition of 40K just makes for such tedious games and Games Workshop's current marketing plan revolves around relaunching armies with such a new balance that players wishing to remain competitive have to either re-tool their entire army or start one of the armies that has been recently re-released.

It's a big part of the reason that I've gotten back into video games this last year. I just don't have the money / interest to keep up with 40K like I used to.

Smile: Both of my cousins are getting married next year (not to each other).

Frown: It'll cost me around 3.5k to go to both weddings.

Travel expenses (flight, car rental, CTA), gifts, lodging, food expenses, and just another reason(s) to purchase a new suit.

But! I paid for both of my cousins lodging for my my wife's wedding, so maybe they'll do the same.

Where are the weddings going to be?
