Character used -- good. Stage -- not so good. I really don't like playing on the Hell stage only because of all the dropoffs, lava, and rock formation blocking shots. The only good thing about it really are all the weapon chests that get you the hard to find weapons for each character. I like the Heliport, Glacier, Smelter, and Secret Sewer stages.

Dream Explorer also has many, many useful saves right on the disc, for all versions of a game, be it Japanese, NA, or Europe. For example it was very useful to get that Detonator Pack (early DLC before the word even became a thing) for Dynamite Cop onto my VMU.

I burned a Dream Explorer disc using this image

http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/dre ... -explorer/

Then took the VMU save file off of GameFAQ's and burned that to a data disc. When running Dream Explorer there is an option to browse a CD. You can remove the Dream Explorer CD and place your burned data disc in there and copy VMU save data off of that.

No complicated setup, no expensive hardware. It's a pretty straightforward process once you're looking at the Dream Explorer menu.

I didn't dig through the disc, i'll have to check that out! That could certainly save me some CD-R's in the future!

Also, I don't think the image would take up a full CD-R, and VMU saves are pretty small - so if you wanted to get frisky, i'd imagine you could add any VMU saves to the image before you burned a copy. That would save you the trouble of burning another disc with the VMU saves on it.

Now that all of that is behind me!

I got to play the new Samba tracks! They're a little odd. Some of the tracks just don't seem to match up with the inputs (After Burner on Normal, i'm looking at you!). But a cool addition to the game for sure!

I did get a perfect on normal mode Ali Bombaye tonight though! And I finally passed the Take On Me (Hard) with an A rank challenge tonight too! A good night for Samba!

I vote for "Open Your Heart" and MOST MOST important, "Burning Hearts"

- FLYYYYY HIGGGGH!!!

Such classics!

But hey, that prompted me to do a search on DLC, and this thread came up:

http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?2 ... amcast-DLC

What do you all thinkg, is there other DLC that you can contribute? It'd be cool to make a Racketboy Article for exploring Dreamcast DLC.

If you got the DLC idea from what I recently posted, that article you linked to doesn't mention Dynamite Cop's Detonator Pack. It adds 2 more characters, another weapon (Stun Gun) and unlocks the additional artwork in the Gallery section.

Spoony! I am so happy to hear your adventures in Samba De Amigo are going well! The game gets incredibly fun the more you learn the tricks and delve deep into the harder difficulty. They can be truly challenging, but once you figure things out, it is highly addictive. I still pull the game out from time to time to play and it never really gets old!

Honestly my all time favorite rhythm game here. I wish the Wii version didn't have such sub-par controls.

Yea, it's a shame about the Wii version. It's ok until you start getting to the higher difficulties and then you realize how poorly utilized the Wiimote is.

Yeah, I think your idea was profound. I wonder what else is out there that we're not too sure about. That website only had Sonic Team stuff, so I wonder if there's any other online enabled games that had some DLC on disc or available via servers.

Anyone know why the PS1 version of Vigilante 8 2nd offense is the most expensive version and it is the most inferior? The Dreamcast version is so far superior, the graphics are far better, less pop in, supports 480p via VGA and also it supports 4 player multiplayer where the PS1 only has 2 player (unless I'm mistaken and it supports the multitap)

I personally consider Vigilante 8 2nd Offense a forgotten gem on the Dreamcast, I feel like most people only remember it from the PS1 and N64 and never knew it got a superior Dreamcast port. And its another game for the list of many great 4 player party games on the DC.

Dang, how profound is this then --

Dynamite Cop on the Dreamcast not only had DLC, but on-disc DLC (unlocked by getting a special file from sega.com).

Bugger!
