Civilization VI comes out in a couple months. Despite the nearly ONE THOUSAND hours I've put into Civ 5, I'm like, super not excited for Civ VI. The brief video I saw made it look VERY different from Civ 5. It's a serious evolution on a computational level (like, how tiles giving stats and how stats work, not just art style). As much as I dig Civ, I'm just really not feeling in the mood to learn a whole other 4X game. It's the same reason I've put so many hundreds of hours into Crusader Kings II and yet I've never tried to learn Europa Universalis III (which is the one I own already).

Alright..I really did try to get into the Metal Gear Series, but I really seem to be quite terrible at stealth based games. I'd rather just run in Guns A Blazin'. I've tried Metal Gear Solid, and Twin Snakes and really couldn't seem to get too far in either game. Ah, maybe there is some barrel somewhere I missed that I'm supposed to hide in to sneak through.

so I fired up Nights Into Dreams last night, and came to the same realization that I come to every time I try to play that game: I have no idea what is going on. I mean, I fly around that first level and I collect little orbs and I fly through the rings and I crash into some big thing that blows up and I do all this three or four times and then the it's game over. I really just have never understood what I'm supposed to be doing.

It's basically a racing game. You do laps and go for a high score. A sufficiently high score will allow you to proceed through the game.

I felt the same way about it the first few times I tried it. After reading up a bit on how I was supposed to play it, the game clicked with me, and I loved it. It is easily one of the Saturn's best.
