What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Not bad for a made-for-TV movie made in the '90s.
I love science fiction, but a future where Dean Cain has a career would push the suspension of my disbelief past its breaking point.

watched Aliens last night and it was quite good. Definitely more of an action movie compared to it's predecessor but it does it quite well. Looked up the trailers for the next two Aliens movies and I think I'm gonna pass on them. >_>

Will definitely check out Prometheus though.

Prometheus does kind of blow probably would rank it below even Aliens Resurrection.

For instance here is the first facehugger :P.

Why the chose a dildo snake over the standard facehugger is beyond me.

I've found parts of all the Alien (and Predator) related movies that I enjoyed. The first two Alien films are just untouchable (and, really, are among the best sci-fi films ever), but most of the sequels are still watchable and on par with (or better) than a lot of other recent sci-fi theatrical fare. Prometheus is quite good until the ridiculous final third, and I like Alien Resurrection quite a bit (especially its look). I'd give them:

Alien: 5/5
Aliens: 4.5/5
Alien 3: 3/5
Alien Resurrection: 2.5/5
Alien vs. Predator: 2.5/5
Alien vs. Predator: Requiem: 1.5/5
Prometheus: 3/5

I'm a big advocate of watching all of the Alien, Predator and AVP movies in a single chronology of their original release dates.

So like:

Alien (1979)
Aliens (1986)
Predator (1987)
Predator 2 (1990)
Alien 3 (1992)

and so on.

WHY?

IDK, maybe I'll just watch them all and form my own opinion but I just hate feeling like I lost two hours of my life for no reason.

And I've seen Predator before but I don't think I've seen the second one.

I'd rate Resurrection a little lower(as much as I enjoy Delicatessen and City of Lost Children, I think Jeunet[and Caro] was a poor choice for this film) and switch the scores for the two AVPs(I liked that they were ballsy enough to kill children in the second, even if I didn't think it was a good film), but overall I agree with Ds on this.

I think Alien 3 gets a bad rap. It's no way near as good as the first two, but it's decent although the story of how it was made is more interesting than the film.

I agree with Luke on Prometheus. That film isn't half as clever as it thinks it is and the action is lame. Stay away.

The movie doesn't feature a single character that acts like a normal human. No common sense whatsoever. It's just dumb.

For example: They land on an alien planet in full gear. At a point, one of them decides to take off his helmet to see if he could breathe without it. Who would do that?

On the sight of the first alien, a "doctor" decides to talk to it like you would to a baby. Who would do that?

The entire movie is like that. Dumb.
