Have you checked out the Retro Game Store Directory thread? I don't know how long ago it's been since it was updated, but there's a lot of locations for California.

Thanks, I didn't know there was such a thread.

I'm pretty sure this is the exact model I have. It mentions needing a PS4 controller, but makes no mention of a PS3 controller.
Enjoy instant access to a catalog of hundreds of streamed PlayStation 3 games. Play using your 2016 Sony Blu-ray Disc player and a Dualshock 4 controller – no game console required.
I might have bought it in 2015, so that might not be the exact one I have.

Maybe some devices can do PS3 or PS4 controllers, but mine can only do PS4?
I highly doubt that, but it's possible. Know anyone who has a DS3 or DS4 so you can test it?

The Double Dragon and Mr. Do! series have installments on both the Atari 2600 and Neo Geo. I find this strangely intriguing and awesome.

Never cared for those games much. Tried both Genesis ones via that Steam collection and the "meh" hit me hard about twenty minutes in. I really want to like the first one - it seems like a weird non-RPG roguelike - but good lord is it annoying.

Both are much better enjoyed with a friend. The first game has an awesome (for the time especially) feature where a split-screen mode will only activate if you walk far enough away from your friend. The new one is going to be more like the first game than the second, and it will also have a 4-player mode, not just a 2-player one. I'm excited to give it a go. It'll be interesting to see it have an update.

yes, the original game was a co-op staple of my youth. Brilliant game to play with a friend. The new one looks like an HD take on the original formula... and with online co-op. I cannot wait.

Seems like really weird marketing to say you need a PS4 controller to play PS3 games, but not mention a PS4 controller.

I have DS3 controllers.

well do they still make new DS3 controllers? Maybe it's just that they're trying to push the DS4's because that's what they are currently producing?
