I don't know about the wire but SHVC-RX is the correct product code for Rockman X. My money is on it being a last second change/repair.

Judging from the appearance of the ICs and the board itself, that cart look legit to me.

Over the last month I have been playing Darius Twin ,Stunt Racer FX and Street Fighter Alpha 2.I like the Darius games especially G-Darius but I find some of the early Darius games like `Twin` On Snes can be really difficult but I will keep playing it a little longer before throwing in the towel.

Currently playing through EarthBound(the RPG fans know this), and I had a bunch of other RPGs show up in the last month to keep me going once I finish this one. I'm excited to play through some of them, like Brandish, and I just got in Ultima: Runes of Virtue 2. It's very different, and its music makes my ears bleed, but I am also looking forward to playing through it. And we have the MK month coming up in July and then Raiden month coming up in December, where I'll be checking out Raiden Trad...2015 is looking good for my SNES collection.

Same here! I should be getting my copy in the mail within a few days.

I almost purchased the Lynx port instead, but thought better of it.

Aww, I'm actually a little upset you didn't. I was curious to hear your thoughts on it.

Oh well, I guess we'll get to see if us old RPG dogs can learn new shmup tricks.

Well here's the thing: Average price of Lynx Raiden is like $45. So the SNES port was a no-brainer.

All is not lost though - I did snag a copy of Chip's Challenge for the Lynx! Used to play the shit out of that game back in the Windows 95 days.

And have we decided that Trad is acceptable for Together Retro? From what I understand it's a somewhat "remixed" version of the arcade original.

I don't think we'll be submitting scores alongside the other guys, but if nothing else we should be able to talk about the game and hear what the differences are from dunpeal, mjmjr, ExedExes, and the other shmup fans. I consider it more of a learning opportunity than a straight competition.

Oh I wasn't even thinking about competition or cross-platform score comparisons.

I guess my question is: is it okay to discuss Trad in our TR Raiden thread? It's not considered completely separate, like a sequel or spin-off, right?

I ask only because "SNES" and "Genesis" aren't listed as platforms here:

HG101 lumps Raiden and Raiden Trad into one entry, I've noticed.
