Everybody and their mother swears this is the best retro sports game ever, so it's safe to say it's a classic.

Thoughts? (Since it is the summer, I am inclined to play a baseball or golf game...)

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Thanks, team! I have played most of these - and in some cases - I have spent a lot of time with them. I actually played sports games a lot when I was younger, but my time was focused on the multi-player modes. (Accordingly, I know that RBI Baseball and Tecmo Bowl are both very high quality games.) Amazingly, however, I have never won the Super Bowl, the World Series, etc. in many of these great games.

That's because it is the best retro sports game ever. I know my time with the game will attest to that.

The original Tecmo Bowl is pretty good, but nothing matches Super.
I'm not sure I'd consider it a "classic", but Baseball Simulator 1.000 is tons of fun. Lots of stat-tracking, and then you get all the super pitches, hitting, and fielding if you use that league. It's cool stuff.

Rad. That actually is one of my favorite NES sports games (even if the robot fights are entirely too rare). I would be hard-pressed to call it a classic, however.

The music is vintage Konami, too.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Here's my tentative list:
Aquales | 1991 | Sharp X68000
Beneath Apple Manor | 1978 | Apple II
Dragon Quest II | 1987/1999 | Game Boy Color
Quest For Glory: So You Want To Be A Hero | 1989/1992 | DOS
Malaya's Treasure | 1989 | MSX
New Devil Golvellius | 1988 | MSX2
Night Slave | 1996 | PC-98
Rusty | 1993 | PC-98
Shadow Tower | 1998 | PlayStation
The Scheme | 1988 | PC-88
So I've got a variety of platforms ranging from the 70s to the 90s, pretty good spread. No 00s games so Bone can sleep at night. As for dsheinem, I believe all of these are classics, even if some are only known as classics in Japan. If I'm wrong I dunna care.

I was about to say...you basically sounded the DSH alarm with this list.

Send me a PM when you start this. I have been meaning to play through that game for years, and I may try to play it simultaneously.
