I was in the city today doing some last minute shopping and just interested in what was around, Target, Kmart, EB Games, seems the only thing they have in stock is Mario and Pikachu, with the odd store have a Zelda or a Peach as well.

How short stock they seem in everything is pretty amazing.

EDIT: I am hoping that the NFC Amiibo Cards Miyamoto talked about actually happen, I would much prefer something small like that (I am imagining pretty much the base of an Amiibo with a character image / emboss) and would hopefully drop the prices on some of those more expensive figures.

It would also mean people could have all smash characters without having to drops $100's.

I almost bought a Samus figure today but common sense kicked in and I walked away.
I don't have any compatible software so they'd do as much at my house as they would on a store shelf.
They do look neat though. I'll give them that.

I saw Zelda at two different Gamestops but didn't bite. I don't really have any interest in that one, but it was interesting I finally saw it, and at both places with no other wave 2s

Anyone else taking all their Amiibo's out of the box so they can actually use them?

And cutting a slit in them so you can still scan them doesnt count as keeping them in the box.

I don't even own a Wii U. For me it's basically I like video games, I'm a sucker for little tchotchkes, and I get to recapture a bit of when I used to collect action figures.

All out and displayed in their glory. I never had any intention of keeping them in the packaging, even after hearing about rarities and other collectible silliness.

New set of figures came into my store yesterday. WE received more diddy kong's, TONS of luigis and a few pits. You know what that means!

Not a huge fan of Diddy Kong but figured maybe I'd be able to trade him. Oh well, he's a neat little figure anyways I wouldn't cry if I just kept him. If anyone comes across a Pit and needs a Little Mac you could make my dreams come true this Christmas
