SpoonyBard - Team Mary Kate - 515,430- Stage 2 - Gain - MAME

Haven't had a lot of time to spend with it so far. But I should have plenty of time tomorrow. Just wanted to get something in.

Not wasting my time uploading the screenshot for this one yet, i'll beat this score.

I tried credit-feeding the Saturn version to get the Wait option, but I don't see it. It seems like it should have worked, because the Superplay video is now available on the title screen. Does the Wait option still unlock if you have the game set to freeplay, or do you need to beat it after setting a certain amount of continues?

Hmm, found this post on ShmupsFarm, from Icarus:
As for Wait Control, this option needs to be unlocked. The conditions are ALL Clear Normal difficulty with one credit only.
Guess I'll stick to playing it on MAME then. :)

one credit clear to unlock slowdown? Damn... maybe I should try MAME if I get the time. Saturn is just so convenient though :/

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Ok this game is starting to test my patience, but I'm making progress. Still a shit score though haha but I'll try to beat a mill I'm getting so close. I tried using Gain like in the high score videos online but it was not working well for me, they make it look so easy. So I started using Wild Snail to just brute force it, only issue I'm having now is that the ship is so slow it makes keeping the medal train a rolling hard.

Oh yeah ignore the AAA and BBB haha the overscan is so bad on this tube I can't see the letters when it asks me to input my initials, my arcade monitor is deep in storage since I thought I'd have a New Astro City cab by now :( I may have to go dig it out. Also with the overscan I am unable to see my score while I'm playing so I have no idea until I game over haha.

You really need to stick with one fighter in this game. Going from (super fast) Miyamoto to (fast) Gain is a whole different game. Going from Gain to Wild Snail feels like you are in quick sand.

I got 4 runs in tonight, was rolling on one, 4th stage, 2+ mil and 4 lives in stockpile - and it just ended brutally quick. This game isn't unfair when you restart - it's just hard to get that focus back. When i'm playing this well it's like an opera, just weaving and natural, never feel in danger, and then you die and it just changes, becomes manic and brutal.

So true, my best runs have almost felt like I'm not even trying, but lately I can't even get beat the first boss without dying.

Made some improvements tonight, decided to call it and post my highest score. But turns out I forgot what my screenshot button was...

So I kept playing until I beat the score I lost.

SpoonyBard - Team Mary Kate - 1,398,190- Stage 3 (Boss) - Gain - MAME
