It's cool, I wasn't calling you out specifically, at least not just you. And you can cue "Tanner time!" all you like. I don't take it as an insult. I'm not a pessimist or a narcissist and I'm proud of that. I almost let myself respond to this differently, especially considering the mockery from other folks, but screw that. It's all good, you and whomever else wants to join can start an entire thread of how annoying my being polite and considerate is, at the end I'll just say "Thank you". I make no apologies for what I believe is right.

On that note, my responding to you at all is another form of courtesy. This is why I do not "just ignore" things. I find it rude to be dismissive.

I am not trying to be overly mean really, and I really haven't been overly insulting or mean in this thread either.

It is more of a commentary on how you go to great lengths and long responses playing mediator in these discussions often without taking much of stance or opinion yourself and making sure you double check you didn't offend anyone. But you do sometimes take on the 'tone' of you talking down to misbehaving children, so this is why I found the Tanner comparison all too appropriate

So when you say it, it's all cool, but when Luke says it, it's childish. I see.

Well, that is one way of looking at it. However, I don't think that I would be making sure to double check if I offend someone who I consider to be acting like "misbehaving children". I take the time and energy to listen to other people despite them having a different viewpoint, sometimes I am convinced of something I hadn't realized, sometimes I realize I was being a dick, then I try and rectify the situation. It's as simple as that. If more members took the time for some reflection instead of just assuming they must be right, it wouldn't seem so out of place.

Dude, seriously? Luke was mocking me because of my earlier criticism of him in the thread. As per usual with him.

The following is to avoid double posting, not for you Samson:

Anyway, I'm out before (or while) I show my ass. Incredibly sorry for having been such a dick to everyone. Is everyone ok?? Feelings intact?? MMM''kay good. I love you and you are special. Not as special as Luke, but still special.

Funny, I think AQ or someone said the show was saccharine.

Is there much "dissent" amongst Bronys? I guess one of the things that makes me like a sub-culture community more or less is the degree of reflectiveness and, specifically, the willingness to criticize creative decisions made by the people who produce the media in question. Are there MLP fans who dislike the art style? Who find the show to be uneven? Or is it, due to "positive vibes," just seen as "ALL AWESOME ALL THE TIME!"?
I don't really think there are any large divides among the MLP community, but there are definitely disagreements from time to time.

For example, everyone always has their own favourite episodes, and certain episodes they dislike. Almost every fan also has a favourite pony, and from time to time they get into arguments over who is better (Rainbow Dash seems to be a common favourite, but I myself prefer Fluttershy because she more resonates with my own personality than any of the other characters).

There are also particular incidents that can get people a bit heated. The show has a few artistic errors at semi-rare times where ponies in the backgrounds will be missing limbs or there eyes will be pointing in opposite directions, etc. Some of the fans enjoy these because they're unintentional and funny, others seem to hate them because they're distracting and look unprofessional.

There's one particular character who was a byproduct of those very errors. A grey pony with blonde hair that appeared in the background of season one and had eyes pointing the wrong way, who the fans dubbed "Derpy Hooves," and was later turned into an official character, keeping the name and all. There's actually a particularly large amount of interesting controversy surrounding her that you can read about in better detail here: http://www.mylittleponynews.com/2012/02 ... versy.html

Another incident that seemed to cause a lot of disagreements among fans was at the finale of season 3. The protagonist character Twilight Sparkle was previously a unicorn (horse with a horn and magic powers), but got turned into an alicorn (horse with a horn, magic powers, and wings) as she was upgraded to the status of royal princess. Some people didn't mind, some people liked the change, a loooooot of people flipped their shit.

That's all, off the top of my head.

No problems. :D

The avatar is my olive branch for Jmustang, I hope he gets a laugh from it. They had one with "Danny Tanner" giving the finger, but I wasn't sure that would be well received.

I think it is funny, and never was taking a serious tone in any of this.

I actually almost recommended you change your avatar to him, but thought you might not take that suggestion well. So props for that.

Done and done. It's all good, I see the humor in it. Especially considering number 9. here:
