Well, I certainly know what it means to play something that goes far beyond gaming. Even if they are short and/or linear, they are so utterly engrossing that you just want to go through it all again, like a good book or movie.

Awesome D post. I've wanted to play that for years. And thanks for not spoiling anything.

Get to D2 as soon as you can. It's.... an experience. Especially if you liked the first one.noiseredux wrote:Tek, should I play D2 or Enemy Zero next in the series? D2 is the proper sequel, but Enemy Zero came out first, right?

the longest the game can possibly be is 2 hrs. If it hits 2 hrs and you haven't beaten it then you lose.dsheinem wrote:Guess I should play my longbox copy. Only a couple hours start to finish, you say?noiseredux wrote:added a gushing post about D.

But you beat it in two hours without any trouble? Is it an insta-death/start over kind of game? Should I use a guide?noiseredux wrote:the longest the game can possibly be is 2 hrs. Re: noiseredux vs. Sega
I beat it in under 2 hours. To my knowledge, there is no way to die. It's basically a race against the clock to solve the puzzles to get to the end. I would not use a guide. But there were two puzzles that gave me trouble (one very early in the game) so after feeling like "ok I've tried EVERYTHING" I did check a FAQ. But I'd say the game is overall easy enough to beat pretty close to FAQ-less on your first run. And following a guide of any sort would probably take a lot away from the experience.dsheinem wrote: But you beat it in two hours without any trouble? Is it an insta-death/start over kind of game? These D games look cool as hell. They pretty rare?
Re: noiseredux vs. Sega
Dont use a guide in D, you have a mirror in your inventory that allows up to 3 hints for any puzzle throughout the game. You can lose the game if you dont complete it in time, and there are 2 endings. Im selling my spare Saturn copy if anyone needs it.
EDIT: Hint there are no pause features in D, since its a game that takes place within a time limit, But!! you can take a break if needed when swapping over to disc 2 before you run it.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
