It wouldn't matter to me anymore.Zing wrote:Would any of this matter if all legal/tax/etc benefits for legally married couples were revoked? In other words, if there was no such thing as "legal marriage" and it was purely ceremonial?

Seriously? Do I even have to explain the difference? The reason these so-called "welfare queens" have children is because the government gives them more money per child, not because they can't have an abortion.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Don't forget that pro-lifers are also the first to complain about "welfare queens" with too many children.ZeroAX wrote: 2) I really love how the people who are "pro-life" are also 99% the people who are against universal healthcare and social benefits. So all life is sacred till it's born, afterwards it might as well roll over and die for all we care?

Plus, now we're talking about how Romney and his posse pinned down a gay student, and as why the student was crying and screaming for help, Romney belittled him and cut his hair off. Also, he laughs about it.

That's what is so ridiculous. He first said he didn't remember the incident but somehow remembers that he didn't think the guy was gay.BoneSnapDeez wrote:It's okay Luke. Apparently Romney "doesn't remember" it happening. Selective amnesia is common among politicians.
Uh huh.
I like to get my news in print, but this sums it up.
And I'd like to note I get nervous laughter, but his laughter is so disingenuous. It's a tactic. I dated a girl who had a serious case of nervous laughter.
Felt so bad for her because she couldn't help it. Anything that made her uncomfortable would make her giggle. I remember being in the local mall, a group of "special" kids walked by, and she laughed. Not at them...I don't know, it was a very weird defense mechanism that she hated to have. She actually laughed during her own Father's funeral...
But moving on...I don't see any of this new news as mud slinging; Mitt brought this on himself. He's also been very, very snippy with journalists lately. He doesn't want to answer questions, only talk about what he wants to talk about.

What happened to Ron Paul? I thought he was finally gaining some mainstream popularity there.Luke wrote:You're probably right, but recent news has definitely sealed Obama's victory. That's exactly what it is and it always happens in the run-up to elections, on both sides. One of the video snippets I saw of Romney getting "snippy" with a reporter, she was asking about legalizing marijauna. Seriously, not a headline issue, talk about the economy or something someone cares about.Luke wrote:But moving on...I don't see any of this new news as mud slinging; Mitt brought this on himself. Unfortunately there are a lot of people in this country who do care about the marijuana issue.Stark wrote:That's exactly what it is and it always happens in the run-up to elections, on both sides.
