So when you get an ability that starts with an "!", that's a command to use in battle. When you get abilities that don't start with an exclamation, those are just abilities you always have? So if I change class, I can equip a "!" ability from another class. But do I still have the attributes of the other abilities? For example, if I'm a thief and I can see hidden passages or whatever, if I change to a Ninja, can I still see hidden passages since I've gained that ability on that character already?

Hopefully later in the game I'll start getting more ABP per battle. Right now I'm only getting 1 or 2, and now I'm starting to see sometimes 3. I'm hoping later in the game you start to get more, it would make leveling multiple jobs a little easier.

I'm surprised you didn't make yourself a repro cart. FFV is one of the handful of carts I want a repro of, along with Secret of Mana 2 and Terranigma.

I know, right? I actually use to own a CIB copy of FF5 (SFC) that I bought off a member here, and I even put the translation on it. I wasn't interested in playing it a the time though, so I ended up selling it. Though now that I'm enjoying the game, I was considering picking up a SFC cart again and putting the translation on it now (I don't use donor carts anymore). There's one seller on eBay that has 7 copies right now, for $10 shipped (each), and he's in NJ! I might buy a copy tomorrow. I have the ability to transfer my save from the flash cart to the SFC cart, so it would make no difference to me. I guess I just enjoy owning actual carts (though perhaps if the game was expensive I would have different feelings  ). I try to tell myself that these things don't matter.

edit: I still have a pic of the FF5 I use to own still uploaded to Photobucket: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/ ... G_5131.jpg

Damn, regret! :(

How does what work? Putting the translation on the SFC cart? Basically, it's the same as making a 'repro' of FF5, only you're using the FF5 SFC cart instead of a donor cart. It's the same otherwise, you just don't have to destroy one game to create another.

Ah, the way you were talking about it made it seem like you were doing something else entirely. Very cool.

Ah, maybe I confused you when I was talking about transferring my save data?

That SFC cart does looks nice.

I've never seriously considered any reproductions. I guess I just have more than enough games already.

Yes he is. One of the harder boss fights in the game.
