Two-Hours? That's a bit of an exaggeration. It's more like 5-6 hours. Still not the greatest, granted. But this can be fixed with an AC Adapter which is very easy to find because it's the same one the model 2 Genesis and the 32X uses. There's also a car adapter made for it, but I've never used it.

ok true but it a poor hand held I never ever use mine not sure what to do with it.

I agree. For some reason, I find early color portable systems (GG, Lynx) seem more primitive to me than the original Gameboy. The early color portables obviously were trying hard to be like portable versions of home consoles, while the Gameboy accepted the fact that it was an entirely different sort of system. Thus, the games made for Gameboy feel less like they are being held back than those on GameGear.

I'm 99% sure Breetai was being sarcastic there.

I dunno about Tale Spin, but as far as I can tell everyone got a free copy of Sonic 2 with their GG. At one point I had 11 GG games and 3 of them were Sonic 2. I'm finally down to 1 left in my sale thread after pricing them cheap.

lol, it's true! You go into any used game shop and if they don't have any other game available for Game Gear, they will have Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and some random sports game.

I'm also 99% sure.

This is a retro gaming site. Why do ANY of use play old games on old consoles when we could just download most of them on the Wii, or emulate them with pretty good accuracy on a PC, Wii or X-Box?

While I DO agree with BoringSupreez's assessment of the GG and Lynx to a point (not entirely... the GG actually was a portable version of the SMS in nearly every respect, although it was marketed as a portable Genesis/MD more...), the same could be said for all retro systems in that they seem "primitive." Personally, I actually owned a Game Gear back in its heyday (1991/1992) and loved it. It was a time when my main consoles (NES and Genesis) were hooked up to the main family TV and I couldn't enjoy Sonic and Streets of Rage on the big screen, I would happily play them in my bedroom. Of course I had the AC adapter for it! In other words, the appeal of the GG for me is partly nostalgia. I'm sure this is a large driving force for a lot of us into retro gaming. Why else would I enjoy playing Fester's Quest?
