And yeah, no way does that adapter fit my rules as a console, "compatible with most GBA games" definitely a cheap SoaC piece of crap.
Thanks, but I don't know if it would be as good as yours to cross-promote. :D
.I do wonder if that can do GB & GBC though.
KalessinDB wrote:No, the original thread promoting it had a few people gasping (it was expensive, but one-off hacks always are) and going "Why don't you just use one of these <links TV de Advance> or a GB Player?", and he said that the video from the TV de Advance is terrible (and composite only I believe?), so sounds like he pulled off some sort of custom circuit. I dunno, I should have it tomorrow or Thursday, so I haven't been able to open it up. I'm sure I'll post pictures somewhere once I get it.
I think it can do RGB through a mod but it does 480i and is weirdly stretched or squeezed.

THELOLOTOV THELOLOTOV I know you said Component conversion was cheating but the following is an article about Component signals on a SNES:

Also there's an update on the HDMI N64 project :D .

Yes, the older SNESes can output component. But the problem is that no one can agree the right way to output the signal. It's not TV-ready, by far. This thread is wrong, but it talks about all things to do with the mod...

Also this might sound simple, but since they're working on HDMI adapters for NES & N64 it makes me wonder if the SNES will get the same treatment.

I've got my SNES connected by S-Video, and this guide said that the SNES can output RGB with no mod? How is that possible?

SNES model 1 has the same AV port as Super Famicom. So RGB was retained.
Rare first party North American cable was used in kiosks.

Is that the only way to get RGB then?

yep my stock snes is hooked up to my XRGB-mini via scart, pretty great looking. The Genesis/megadrive can also output RGB right out of the box, it's really great.

No. There's 3rd party ones.
In the US it's easiest to use a SCART cable for NTSC consoles.

PAL SNES cable won't work right. Nintendo of Europe changed the SNES.
Japan's cable is for Japanese TV sets, unlikely you imported a TV.

And you can use a converter/linedoubler to get the RGB to your American SCART-less TV, like a RGB SCART to YUV Component transcoder you can get for around £30.
