The server I run can now hold 8 people at a time, so we are looking for people to join. Can't think of a better group of people to ask :)
We are a small community of friends. The only rule is not to be a dick to others. Backups are made every 15 minutes.

Server is now hosted in the US, i'm in the UK and I get a great connection, so there shouldn't be much lag for anyone.

I designed an (ok-ish) website for the server where you can see all the details and whatnot (including a live map) - bit.ly/tottoncraft

Looking to add 4-6 people.

I hope some of you find this interesting, would be great fun to see you all online!

PM me for details.

So I'm wondering if it's worth getting this game. It looks fun - really fun in fact. But I can tell that because of the kind of game it is (Being that it doesn't have any set goals or pacing) I'll either walk around for ten minutes and get bored, or I'll get absolutely lost in the game and hardly ever play anything else (Which is already a problem for me, I have quite the backlog).

Well, NPCs and quests will be added to the game soon.

You're probably right that the game will either bore you or get you completely hooked. I think it's one of the most original games to come out in the last 10 years, so I think it's worth buying to at least try it. There's little else like it.

I've played MineCraft on and off for the last 6 months and with the new 1.8 patch I'm back in. Some friends and I have got a server set up and keep getting more and more friends involved. (We are not public... yet)

And to each friend that is unsure if they will enjoy the game I ask them Did you play and enjoy Lego as a kid? If so this is Lego meets a sandbox game with dungeon crawler elements.

For me building things and seeing others creations is the appeal of the game. After a suspension bridge, skytrain with stations, underwater cities countless trade posts and many many co-op builds I just keep going back to this game.

Hope that gives you some more information MrEco. Also if you are more interested in the building (like me) a pad of grid paper is amazing for large builds. ;)

Well I bought Minecraft today. Pretty epic. It took me like half an hour to find somewhere suitable for building a house. A huge clifftop by a lake. In that half hour I collected a bunch of random supplies, killed a couple skeletons, ran from even more skeletons, almost got killed by a creeper, tricked this one creeper into killing itself, ran from a bunch of other creepers, ran from some endermen, and killed a ton of sheep and cows.

I just need to learn how to make a bed. To the wiki...

I know a great Vanilla Server, but I would like to keep it a little secret. You need to find your own place. But you can live with me for a while if you do join. Just PM me if you want in.

I love this game! I've been playing it since Alpha.

The maps have become so much more ridiculous now - and it's definitely become more difficult with the addition of abandoned mineshafts. It's just WAY easier to get lost underground and also I feel like mobs spawn much more frequently. In the past I would maybe run into perhaps a few lone monsters on normal - but now it's like I run into armies of them as soon as I get underground. I'm pretty sure Dungeons have been made more common too.
