Raiden IV 360
Shatter PS3
After Burner 32X
Dragon Age: Origins PS3
Red Faction: Guerrilla PS3
RayStorm PS1
RayCrisis: Series Termination PS1
Call of Duty: World at War 360

Contra NES *new* - played for Together Retro

In the Hunt PS1 *new* - A great (and easier) Metal-Slug precursor. Who knew a sub shmup could work so well?

Philosoma PS1 *new* - shifting viewpoints, interesting concepts, and nifty CGI cutscenes just didn't coalesce for me in this one. Forgettable.

F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point
360 *new* - This series is quickly becoming one of my faves, as I really enjoyed FEAR 1 and 2 when I played them last year and am now going back to play the two non-canon entries in the series. I can't get enough of the slo-mo shooting and creepy atmosphere.

TOTAL: 12

I have too many games going at once right now - so hopefully I can finish them off and have a bigger update next time. I'm also going to start (and most likely finish) God of War III next week!

I haven't had much time for video games lately, unfortunately. I suppose I ought to get on that.
I didn't backread through all the pages to see if you posted any, but what are your thoughts on Soul Calibur IV after beating it?

Love Soul Calibur, I only really enjoyed 2 on the GC, and 3 didn't do much for me. I guess just diminishing returns for me, but have been thinking about picking up SC IV.
I have mixed feelings. The series really has never captured that same feel of the first game for me, but what SC4 does offer is good. Characters that I greatly disliked in SC3 feel like they've come into their own, such as Setsuka and Zasalamel, and the game seemed well-balanced...not considering The Apprentice, of course. The character creation system also felt a lot better than in SC3, and there's all the art galleries and alternate weapons, and some interesting game modes. The Star Wars characters bug me, but that's because I just don't feel they fit...it being a battle in the 1700s and all. Also, multiplayer achievements. I hate multiplayer achievements.

Either way, definitely feels better than Soul Calibur 3, and despite a glitch where a certain achievement wouldn't register, a lot less buggy.

So far this year...

- Completed: Banjo-Kazooie (N64) I'd forgotten how much of a classic this is. Can't wait to get the sequel, which I've never played before. :)

- Completed: A Boy and His Blob (Wii) This game was a really nice surprise

- Beat: Time Hollow (NDS) After a point my brain couldn't keep up with the crazy time-altering storyline anymore. I can't see myself ever going back to get all the endings :(

- Completed: New Super Mario Bros Wii (Wii) I was kind of disappointed by this. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it was the same game that I've been playing for years on my SNES.

- Beat: Shenmue II (Xbox) Second time I've played through this. First time on the Xbox version. Very enjoyable. Didn't seem so massive this time through but that's understandable. Next time I play I'll probably bother with all the hidden quests.

Truly the finest platformer on the DS, even if it's essentially a remake. Somebody ought to publish the thing already.

Updated:
  • Assassins Creed II (PS3)
    Uncharted 2 (PS3)
    Shatter (PS3)
    Mass Effect (PC)
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price (PS3)
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3)
    Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS)
    Trace Memory (DS)
Half-Life 2: Lost Cost (PC Download)
    Mega Man 10 (WiiWare)
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (DS)

*NEW*Advance Wars Days of Ruin (DS) - Best story and units of all the Advanced wars, but it lacks a lot of features that made the previous ones so easy to come back too.

*NEW*Pokemon Heart Gold (DS) - Awesome remake of what is easily the best story and region of all pokemon games, and now it has all the cool new features to be added since the original came out. Clear time of 27:54. Ended up beating the elite four with nothing in my team but my Meganium (lvl 76 when I finished).
Total count: 13

I should be done Feel the Magic XY/XX soon as well, but pokemon is distracting me. Been trying to clear out some of my DS backlog lately.

Beat Halo 1 and 2, went to play 3 (Which I have never played) and it gives me a disc read error just after the opening cutscene, not cool!
