That would actually help me out a lot. If a member sold a Star Fox 2 cart to another member that wanted one, that'd be one less cart that I have to make.

And I'd like to thank every one for sticking up for me here. It's actually making me kinda teary-eyed. Thanks! Clearly I should put some thought into doing something to prevent this kind of thing. Do you guys really think I should put "reproduction" or something like that on my labels? That kinda ruins the magic.

But anyways, I have good news. I'm now making much better labels! I had to print a label for a SFC cart, which is a lot wider than the Avery labels I was using. So I picked up some adhesive backed photo paper. It looks amazing. The photo paper is a little more susceptible to scratches and whatnot but looks crystal clear where as the tape labels are kinda fuzzy.

The tape label mimics the clear coat on a real SNES label better, but the photo paper labels look so much clearer and are easier to make.

Of course we would back you up! You put a lot of time and work into making these carts and sell them at very reasonable prices, so for someone to profit of off your kindness by flipping a cart that fast has to be disheartening.

As far as labeling the cart as a repro, I think you are right, it would ruin the magic a bit. I would maybe just search eBay for them every once in a while after you've sold one, and if you see one that you think may be yours, and its being sold as an official cart, flag the auction and eBay should take it down.

Also, I really like the quality of the new label!

Ah shit. I just noticed that the picture makes my new label look fuzzy too. Just picture it looking crystal clear.

Wow that does look much clearer than the tape labels. And yeah, I don't think you should put "Reproduction" on the labels. Unless maybe you made back labels and it could be in the fine print.

I must say, the carts look professionally made, well done.

As to wording on the cart, maybe "pirate copy" on the game cart would be better as it would make it hard to sell it on then - unambiguous!

So I was thinking, I wanna make something that's subtle but yet still noticeable. I had two ideas, which I implemented in this draft below.

Under the Nintendo logo on the top left, I put "pirate cartridge" but made it semi transparent. In fact, if you monitor is too dark you might not even see it. Then I modified the SNES logo in the bottom right. I made the red bar underneath say 'pirate reproduction cartridge' when it usually says Entertainment System. Oh yeah, I also made the game code SNS-ZIG-USA lol.

This is of course just quick drafts, the text is really choppy and whatnot. But what do you guys think of these two ideas? One or the other, or both?

Looks nice. Tidy up the text (eg the last "E" in "Cartridge"). Have the "Pirate cartridge" not as semi-transparent but in white. Remove the "official Nintendo seal of quality" and change the word "Nintendo" to something like "Nintindu" so it reads the same but is clearly not - reason being, you don't actually want the print to look like it is endorsed by Nintendo, as it isn't, and they might get pissed if they tracked you down. For a giggle, change to "Made in Samalia" not "Made in Japan". If you make it look like it is, ie not authentic, it will still look fantastic but cannot be sold as a proper game cart - job done.

I don't like it, "Pirate" just feels insulting to me.

Just reproduction or something similar is a better idea and sound much classier.

Yeah, I'll agree that "pirate" doesn't feel too friendly. Although, I never agreed with the term "reproduction" because these carts were never in production in the first place.

But the terms aside, what do you think of the location/appearance of them? The one in logo in the lower right corner I rather like. Of course, I would make the text look better, but I like the idea of it. You wouldn't notice it unless you look closer, so it doesn't ruin the label, but it's still blatantly there. The "watermark" in below the Nintendo logo, I could take it or leave it. I wonder when it's printed out if you'd be able to see it at all angles. That'd be pretty cool.
