Reading counts as work!
You keep telling yourself that. :P
When it's research for a paper to be published in an academic journal, then it sounds like work to me.

Because of the apology or because what he said?

Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone.

His apology seemed staged, insincere, and I could be wrong, but something (and some people) tells me the apology was bs pressed on him by his pr people and lawyers (and brother).

Apologizing ends up being "scripted" even when done face to face, let alone on TV

Not all the time. When I apologize to my boss for some stupid reason, sure. But if I actually make a mistake...no script.

But a lot of people, including me, can smell bs a mile away.

Late night talk shows are semi scripted though. What will be discussed and sometimes even the jokes/stories that will be told get approval beforehand.

That's true, and what do expect an actor to do but act? I simply don't like the cut of his rug...or whatever the saying is. Cut of his jig?

Anyway, some great people I know who aren't the type to hate on success said he bought his way into the industry. Lots of people do. But they also said he treats everyone but the person who pays him like crap.

See Micheal Cera.

Jib is the word you were looking for. Might be spelled with a g; not sure on that part.
