What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I've heard that there are glasses now that can help with colorblindness, is that true? Have you heard of those?

It depends on your type of colorblindnesss if they work and they are pricey. But I cannot fathom how much it would change your world to suddenly see it in color, I could not put a price on that.

Did you have to fast before surgery? If yes, then yeah, that happens, but nothing a bit of juice can't cure.

I informed prof and TA. TA was embarrassed. Oh well.

I just can't understand why there are so many shitty and snarky ass TAs at this school. Another incident: I had to create a webpage a couple of semesters ago using strictly HTML and CSS (no JavaScript, etc). We got to choose the topic. Most people chose to make an "about me" page or some other mundane bullshit. I made mine about retro gaming (how original  ). Anyway, when all was said and done the TA says to me "I didn't really care for the concept of your website but since it technically met all the requirements I was forced to give you an A." Fucking seriously?!

Anyway, hopefully the prof and TA I have now will have a bit of patience regarding the colorblindness thing. I'll ask other students (or even my wife) for help when needed.

Yes. I have tried them (my wife is an optometrist). They're okay. They unfortunately have a "sunglasses" type effect to them though - everything is tinted. And of course they won't "work" for everyone, no two people have exactly the same type of color deficiency. I can't imagine someone wearing them all day either.

Well, computer folks aren't exactly known for their interpersonal skills.

And as for that other guy, it's too bad he has bad taste. That said, if he continues to allow personal opinion to cloud his work and judgment, I'm sure he's gonna piss the wrong person off at some point.

:( Missed out on donating blood.

Oh, and shortly after we moved down here my brother donated blood. And then when I had to go to the Casting building at Walt Disney World, my mom donated blood, but because she was so underweight, she ended up having to go to the hospital a few hours later.

:( My mother's back on her campaign to keep me from moving to New York City. It's basically the same tactic where she takes a slight shortcoming of mine (here, it was not having found a new job after my hours at Typhoon Lagoon dried up) and turning it into an excuse to keep me from moving to NYC. Bitch.

Instead of bitching and moaning about your mother (and you should never call your mom that word, by the way), why don't you just fucking DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?

For years you've been pissing and moaning about obstacles to moving to NYC.

There are a ton of resources online to help you move for very little money. You have a job. Save for a couple of months, keep your head down, and go. GTFO. Go and do what you want to do, prove to yourself that you have the talent, and just fucking do it.

Sorry to sound harsh, but I think I've developed a severe case of "NYC talk" fatigue over the years. Stop blaming others and take some responsibility.

They did blood tests a week before but I had missed lunch that day.

Now now, let's not judge too harshly. He was working at Disney; he might actually be an anthropomorphic dog, and thus it would be a term of endearment.
