Being a collector I wanted to see the condition of the disk I was buying. All of them were fine but resident evil 5 on the 360. The game was horribly scratches up. The salesman was rude to me and made sarcastic comments to me about my checking of the disks. Got so pissedoff that I asked him to hand me the RE disk and broke it in my hands. After that I walked out. Will never do buisness with them again.
I think you handled the situation wrong, but I can completely empathize with the frustration. There's a handful of clerks who consider working in a multinational game chain equates them to having PhD in the subject, and as a consequence, don't like having their word questioned.

Hehe I work 5 minutes down the road. I'm sure if the police wanted to find me it would be pretty easy. I'm pretty sure bro gamer #1 didn't even care. And I do drive a very distinctive vehicle and was in work uniform. I'm sure even law enforcement wouldnt care if a copy of RE 5 was destroyed. That disk was in terrible condition. I wouldn't pay a dime for something like that. The top of the disk had several deep seated scratches. I know for sure its against their policy to take those, but apparently they dis. Gamestop can get on the nuts.

I just casually broke the disk in my hands. Walked out wihout saying anything. Got in to my car. Pumped the gas and had to wait for it to warm up so it wouldnt die when i threw it in reverse( haha carburetor in 22 degree weather). The look on bro gamer #1 face assured me that what i had done was worth it. Trust me I would not scuffle with a gamestop employee. But don't tempt me!

I know right! Sometimes I allot of trouble sympathizing or even being polite to people that don't work in an occupation I have worked in. If somebody is a Dick at a fast food restaurant, I just assume that they are having a terrible day. But gamestop employees get none of my sympathies.

 this attitude annoys me just as much as so-called "dudebros."

One time, about a year and a half ago, I brought a used copy of Radiata Stories up to the counter at GameStop. The clerk took out the disc and said "hey man, I don't think you want this, it's pretty beat up." It was nice to see that kind of courtesy and honestly (but at the same time, the employees shouldn't be accepting games that beat up in the first place).

Incidentally, I lucked out that day because the independent gaming store across the street had a copy in perfect condition for the same price.

I'm more surprised at the fact that you broke up a CD with your hands, that stuff is tough.

It's not that hard. Just don't be a weenie about it. Bend as fast as you can.

This is why Cartridges are better, lol just think of all the money the publishers are saving on making disc copies rather than full flown cartridges these days.

I guess it's just me but I hate that term bro gamer that's tossed around all the time here. Makes retro and niche gamers just seem petty and resentful...
