The Gamestop I visited had a row of Rayman cases on display. because they were in customer reach all had the seal broken and the games removed. There were no sealed Rayman Origins, all were busted open. I ended up going to another Gamestop to get a new sealed copy. Why not display them behind the counter on the back wall?
I hoped you complained to the District Manager about this.

I recently filled out the survey store and checked yes, I want the DM to contact me. Instead, I got the store manager and it seems that he didn't know how to chat with a customer on the phone. I told him that I wanted to praise this one employee for doing an excellent job, blah blah. He said that he will let the employee know.

No gift card or any bonus. :(

Heh, I can't stand things like what was just mentioned with the Rayman Origins "new" games.

On a better note at least the used copy of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is in like new condition. In fact, it's in much better condition than a lot of "new" but not sealed GameStop games I have seen.

I've met my share of d-bags at Gamestops, but I know plenty of employees at the ones I frequent who love talking about the differences in iterations of KOF or BlazBlue, have special ordered rare shit for me, given me free posters, and genuinely care about games. It depends on the person.
Exactly, it just depends on the person you're talking too. The guys at my local store are great. They like talking about games-both new and old- are pretty knowledgeable and always helpful. Nice guys.

I was out of town this past weekend and stopped by a new store to check out their PSP selection. I found a couple games and when I got to the checkout the guy seemed excited that they were complete and that the UMD's were in such good shape. He then went on about how a lot of people don't take care of their games, the pointlessness of throwing out cases/manuals of a product you just bought and how that new Vita's awesome, but, gee, isn't it a shame it won't play UMD's anymore. If it wasn't so far away, I'd visit this store more often.

Went into my local gamestop for the first time in years. I went up to he counter with a plethora of used games. Being a collector I wanted to see the condition of the disk I was buying. All of them were fine but resident evil 5 on the 360. The game was horribly scratches up. The salesman was rude to me and made sarcastic comments to me about my checking of the disks. Got so pissedoff that I asked him to hand me the RE disk and broke it in my hands. After that I walked out. Will never do buisness with them again.

You broke the disc? And you think the Gamestop staff was the jerk in this situation?

The GS staff wasn't being polite as they should, but breaking the disc in anger is on a whole other level of rudeness.

Wait a minute..... so did you break the game disc in a fit of rage or was there some "scuffle" between you and the clerk that led to an accidental breaking? We need more details, those things are hard to break!

I already posted this several months ago, but I witnessed the same kind of thing in my local GameStop. A dude asked to see some PSP discs and then refused to buy them upon seeing how mutilated they were. As he walked out the clerk had a little tantrum and slammed the games down while saying something along the lines of "never sell anything to that asshole again" to a nearby employee. Incredibly unprofessional, god forbid anyone would want to inspect the quality of the items they're buying!

The only used games I'll buy at GS these days are carts (DS and whatnot). You simply can't trust the discs there.

If you actually did that then you should've been arrested. Isn't that called 'destruction of property'?

Yes and no. Back in my "employment" days, you'd be surprised how often this sort of stuff happened. It takes longer for the police or security to show up than it takes for someone to walk out of a store. I mean, I worked at malls where the security was both lazy and bored. The second something actually happened, they would not ever make it in time. Same with police only worse. I grew up in a town where the cops where really bored and they still took about an hour to pick up a trespasser in a store. Yes, he destroyed property (assuming he not lying) but whose going to stop him from walking out?
