What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Don't give him too much credit, it's a riff on #4 here: http://www.cracked.com/article/18367_6- ... es-better/
I can say without hesitation that I would never riff off of Cracked. The Onion, maybe, but not Cracked. Plus, I thought this was common knowledge.

Cracked also doesn't give any insight on Jeanie, so na na na boo boo.

But yeah, if you are going to over think a movie, choose a dumb one. Much more fun.

Sorry, but no it isn't. It reaches to be philosophical and fails miserably. Put down the bong, pick up a book. FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF is infinitely more philosophical.
Implying that I'm an idiot who gets high all the time isn't going to change my mind on this. (And is an incredibly offensive thing to say to me, specifically)

The philosophical ideas presented in the movie have nothing to do with the plot itself or the dialog. I'm not saying the idea that "there is no spoon" is particularly compelling. I'm saying that there is something under the surface of that movie ... that has nothing to do with that movie ... that is significantly more interesting than the superficial nature of whats directly presented in The Matrix. And I know it's there because they use direct reference to Simulacra and Simulation multiple times.

When I learned about this and read that paper, my opinion of the movie actually increased just because they were aware of this, let alone inserting the ideas into the context of the movie. Obviously they didn't really keep it up or anything since it's entirely missing from the sequels.

I'm not saying the movie is multiple layers deep, it isn't. But it's at least two. And it isn't me, personally, over analyzing it, it's something that's actually there.

I'm not implying you are some kind of idiot who walks into stops signs; my personal view is that the matrix is, well, dumb. s'cool.

I watch Full House. A lot. I watch Tyler Perry movies. A lot. Every opinion is valid and I don't think I'm a smarter guy than you.

That in mind, I'm a loud mouth.

You now make a whole lot more sense to me. If I take everything you say as I take everything out of a Tyler Perry movie, I will understand you much better.

THE MONUMENTS MEN

It's terrible. Waste of a cast, waste of film, waste of time.

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how this wasn't something spectacular. The pieces are there, but...it's no good. The audience seemed to agree as there were a few walk outs.

Death is but a door. Time is but a window. He'll be back.
