It's not everyday you come across these systems.
Those aren't bad prices at all. And no, those are not normal to see in the wild outside of Japan (and the Mark II is not even common to find in Japan!).

There is no tape player to load the games and I don't think I will bother to get one. The games are probably going to get thrown away except for the few original ones that there are.
Nice Find! Considering how hard it is to get the Spectrum games, maybe hang on to the "backup" cassettes? Might have a hidden gem in the eventuality that you get a tape reader.

Apparently it is possible to load games from an MP3 player which makes the copied games totally worthless. I will mod the Spectrum to composite video (very simple) since I am not even getting a stable picture on my TV. If everything works I will try the mp3 load method.

Ahhh, Arkanoid! I remember experiencing Arkanoid on the NES for the first time, my brother and I had a blast trying (and failing) to beat it. I remember finding Doh it Again in a Funco Land and being like, "Whaaaaaaaaat!? There's an Arkanoid on the SNES!?!?!"
I don't know if you've ever played Doh it Again, but it's great. I still love the NES game, but it's miserably impossible. Doh it Again is actually beatable, and it has some great 2 player modes. It's well worth the $4 you paid for it.

It also works with the SNES mouse.

I've known that pretty much since I got the game, but I've never actually tried it yet. I guess the thinking was that it'd be like the Arkanoid paddle, but the thought of using the SNES mouse always seemed like it would be too hard to me. I'll have to try it one day, just to see. I might have actually already tried it, but I just don't remember.
On the talk of Arkanoid, there's Arkanoid Returns on the PS1, but it was only released in Japan. According to Wiki, it's on the Japan PSN for download. It has 50 stages and no bosses. It had a re-release, called "Arkanoid Returns 2000" as far as I can tell. According to Wiki, "The R 2000 re-release adds 150 additional stages, bringing the total to 200, with bosses on levels 100, 199, and 200. This release also contained a level editor." I think I have burns of both, but I haven't gotten around to trying them yet. But it looks like if you enjoy Doh it Again, then you would enjoy the PS1 games as well.
There was an Arkanoid II on the Famicom, which I've played on a flash cart, but it just seems too difficult. I'll put up with the original NES game, but the Famicom sequel holds nothing special in my opinion. And also, I just read on Wiki that there's an Arkanoid on WiiWare. I might have to check that out.
