Baseketball. Still as dumb as I remember it but funny in a crude manner. The bit with Matt and Trey's oversized dicks always makes me chortle as does their kiss.
In movie news, looks like the next Fantastic Four will indeed have a afro-american Johnny and a Caucasian Sue. But somehow that isn't the oddest casting, as someone at Fox has decided Jaime Bell is the Thing. Or so say IGN at any rate.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I just took a trip back to the 1990's during the era of Military Comedies with Down Periscope starring Kelsey Grammer. I don't know why, but I find this genre of movie to be one of the most mindlessly entertaining. This is amidst the various films like Sgt. Bilko, Mchail's Navy, Hots Shots 1 & 2, Major Payne etc.
There is just something about those movies that appeal to me in the most base way. They aren't good, by any means, but damn it if they are not entertaining.

Clash of the Titans (the real one) was on the other night. Man, the HD broadcast looked considerably better than my old DVD copy.

Basketball is hilarious. It's almost like they didn't even try with the script for their brom-com, but it all works.Sload Soap wrote:Baseketball
Fantastic Four ...
You can bet on a black Human Torch, but don't buy into anything you read about F4. The rumor mill has gone overtime and overboard on that movie.
I take umbrage with you for lumping in a classic like Major Payne in with garbage like Down Periscope. Umbrage I say.BogusMeatFactory wrote:I just took a trip back to the 1990's during the era of Military Comedies with Down Periscope starring Kelsey Grammer ...Major Payne

Major Payne is leagues better than down periscope, but it was in that era of films where everything was military comedy at every turn.Luke wrote:

Obviously I was joking, but yeah, Major Payne is special. Damon Wayans was firing on all cylinders back then. His brom-com with Adam Sandler (Bulletproof)was also pretty good. "Dinneyland". However the scene where Sandler gets the snot kicked out of him is actually quite disturbing. Seems a bit too real.BogusMeatFactory wrote:Major Payne is leagues better than down periscope, but it was in that era of films where everything was military comedy at every turn.Luke wrote:

In all honesty, I loathe kelsey grammer. I lump him in with that other asshat* who has a Daily Show-esque "news program" . There is something that I can't stand about ugly dudes who get rich and leave their faithful partners for arm candy. Not many things "set me off", but given the opportunity, I'd punch kelsey in the face.
*bill maher. Not saying the guy can't play idiots like a fiddle, he's great at that, but the guy has the morals of a herpe infested prostitute. Womanizers, Schindler aside, piss m off to no end.

You guys also forgot In the Army Now, Operation Dumbo Drop, and perhaps most importantly...BogusMeatFactory wrote:Major Payne is leagues better than down periscope, but it was in that era of films where everything was military comedy at every turn.Luke wrote:

Ernest is the absolute worst. If comedy has a lcd, there you go.Ack wrote: You guys also forgot In the Army Now, Operation Dumbo Drop, and perhaps most importantly...
Dude head was awesome in Beverly Hillbillies, but other than that...comic bronze.
As far as IN THE ARMY NOW goes; yikes!!! Kind of crazy to say "Andy Dick at his best!".

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

Rented Riddick last night and boy has that series gone to crap
This movie had a variety of problems.
1. The aliens were boring at least in comparison to the first film and they don't seem to be much of a threat
2. The location is forgettable. Desert with an outpost and a couple of cave scenes.
3. A lot of focus is given to a character other then Riddick who has connections to the first film. Although the character is confusing as hell since his age doesn't match up with his role very well. I think at this point around 10-20 years have passed since the first movie story wise
4. Riddick just isn't that interesting his traps are predictable, he doesn't have a ton of lines and many of those that he has are offensive or cliche, and he gets his ass kicked multiple times before the film ends.
5. The ending
Overall I think this movie only serves to hurt the image the series built in the previous films.
