overall i didnt really get a deal (because i paid retail) but i did get a Wii U out of the blue :D

There may be an overall WiiU impressions thread already ( I've not looked yet) but what do you think?

I picked up a NES Advantage the last week, but it does not work so hot. $7. I'll look up how to service it to see if it helps. Any tips are appreciated.
Grabbed Dragon's Revenge on the Genesis for $4. I have yet to do well on any of the individual screens where you fight spiders out of a tree and the like. Overall a good game. Also picked up Ultraman on the SNES. I thought I'd read it was a good game, but should have verified that first. $3.

Today I picked up a Virtual Boy with Controller & Mario Tennis for $25. I ordered the AC adapter and converter tab pack online this afternoon for $25. Crossing my fingers everything works - I want to play some Galactic Pinball!!!

On Tuesday I grabbed 3 games on clearance at Target. Rayman Origins for $10 and a two-pack with Iron Man 2 and Thor for $9. All for the 360. I'm very excited about the Rayman Origins purchase especially, but I'll entertain any comic book game any day of the week.

Best of all, my wife feels like we need a big flat screen now for our media room. I'll be shopping at Costco for a TV with the RCA inputs later today. :D :D :D I don't even know if they stil include those on new TV's. :?: :?: :?:
Systems: Pong, Odyssey2, Atari 2600, NES, CDX, SNES, N64, Saturn, DC, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, GCN, Wii, Xbox360, OUYA
Handhelds: GB, GBC, GBA, DS lite, DSi, Virtual Boy (<< is that even a portable?)
EM Pinballs: Bally Dixieland, Gottlieb Flying Carpet
SS Pinball: GTB Circus, GTB Count-Down, GTB Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Stern Lectronamo, Stern Galaxy, Bally Black Pyramid

There's a few threads. There's this one: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39608

It was started before the console was released, but it seems to be what every one is posting in since it has been released. And if you look in the Nintendo sub-forum, there's several threads pertaining to different Wii U topics (ID thread, Zombie U, Nintendo Land, freezing problem, etc).

Now that I've had a 4 hour nap after staying up all night and hitting the 50% of everything sale at the local retro store, I am ready to post my acquisitions. :)

Freedom Force NES
High Speed NES - Picked up for someone else.
Low G Man NES
TMNT II manual NES
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 PS2 - Have an incomplete copy for Xbox, but this is complete and goes with my copy of MAT 1 I have for PS2. I also just noticed this is a 'Not for Resale' copy, so that's cool.
Atari Anthology manual PS2 - Makes my copy complete and the book is mint.
Alien Front Online DC - Boxed copy, though no mic. Looks like a fun game to tool around in.
Time Soldiers SMS - Always loved this arcade game and being complete and on sale I finally snagged it.
Sidearms TG16 - Complete.
Super Star Soldier TG16 - Upgrade to a complete copy for me.
NES controller extension - Might keep as an extension, might use to make a Famicom adapter/extension at some point.
Fortified Zone GB - This is a French copy, but it is an overhead run n gun, so shouldn't matter.
Turmoil 2600 - Metal Jesus had this in a hidden gems video recently, decided to give it a go.
Famiclone game pad - Was mislabeled, but works with a Famiclone I have with the same D-dub plug. Is actually decent (if light) for a knockoff.
DC keyboard - This appears to be brand new as the cord twist ties look factory fresh. Now I'm ready for some 2 player TOTD action.

Oh and I nearly forgot. There was this other manual I nearly left behind but it was nice and crisp and was making puppy dog eyes at me so I took pity on it. Oh, and it was 50 cents after discount.

Total damage was about $89

I went to the same retro store 50% off sale with Hobie at Game Over Games.

Some frustration with the mass of people and disorganized process, but got some good deals...

$40

Yep another Nomad for me, I think that makes 4, but for $40 it was a pretty good buy. I will eventually do the screen and battery mod for it.

Image
$25

One of the only Gen consoles I haven't owned. I have been patiently awaiting finding one of these for a good price, and for 25 it was worth it.

Image
$30

A used Ar Tonelico Qoga limited edition. I have one that is sealed still, so I will use this as a play copy and keep my other sealed for the time being.

Image
$12.50

Box has seen better days, but not horrible. And the Stick is a bit yellowed. But for the price, it will be a nice gameroom decoration piece.

Image
$12.50

Great price for this game and needed it for my collection

Image
$10

Good price for R-Types

Image
$7.50

Space Invaders shirt my wife wanted

Image
Bowser - $15
Goomba - $6.50
Bullet Bill - $5

Mario Baddie plushies my wife wanted.

All in all, a pretty good haul and set me back about $170 total. Not amazing, but pretty good for a brick & mortar. Not sure if the hassle was worth going back again for next year's sale though.

They had another one too, and Hobie failed to snag it for me :( I think it was only $7.50

By the time I got over there, someone grabbed it right before I could... oh well

Haha, sorry no. My other one is just a plain brown box and want to keep it dust free and safe when in on the shelf.

And I didn't know Jmustang wanted a keyboard. The dude that snagged it saw me carrying the other one around.

I'm gonna tell you a sad story Scott. I got that same boxed keyboard by accident last year. I ordered it online and thought it was loose. I got lucky. Then I wasn't so into collecting DC for a while so I sold it. Then this past year I got BACK into DC collecting hard so I bought one online that said "complete" and it showed up loose. noise can't win.

Ouch.

While your story has moved me, it isn't enough to make me unleash my box. I would be happy to scan it for you so you can print up your own though.
