My girlfriend just got home finally and told me she went to the hospital. Her neck hurt. She wandered into the ER apparently and ended up getting a CT scan. Pulled muscle, as I've been telling her for days. She tells me "it's okay, they just wanted a $50 co-pay when I gave them the insurance card".

Never a bright idea.

Hope she gets better.

Ticked: DVD drive in my PC seems to be dead. Tried the ol' paperclip in the little hole to get it to eject. But nada.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Speaking of...

Smile: Only a few mere minutes ago my wife said "You should really start meditating" aka closing your eyes "with me". I said "I'd rather pray".

She asked if I prayed to God or Jesus (we are both very spiritual people that believe in "Something" but not the Bible).

That said, I still say the Nicene Creed but told her, honestly, that I mostly pray to Saints. Sounds silly *throws arms up in a "what can you do" manner* but hey, I used to find comfort in the Tooth Fairy.

I pray to Saint Jude the Saint of hopeless causes (it's not as depressing as it sounds...kinda), Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini (first US citizen to be canonized by the Catholic Church), Saint Lucy the Saint of Clarity (aka the Saint of education, and clear thinking), and Saint Anne, the saint of fertility.

Ever the joker, when I told my wife I prayed to Saints she asked "Are there any bad saints"? Of Course I had to answer "The 1992 New Orleans Saints".

I know it is a joke, but the 92 saints had one of their best years, which for a franchise up until recently, had mostly bad years. They went 12-4. It is just funny, for a team like the Saints were throwing almost any year out there as a bad one is easy, you did happen to pick a good one haha.

??? Did you put the clip in far enough? That activates a manual switch, and you can always get the disc out, regardless of if it's powered or not. I've gotten drives open out of the computer and disconnected.

It isn't a switch unless it is a laptop drive. On a desktop drive, you're usually pushing on the big gear that opens the tray.

Aww. Hang in there! A lot of people are really out-of-sorts and down when they first go off to college. I definitely was. It gets better once you find your groove and some real friends -- trust me. Give it a few months. :)

Smile: Joke all you want, but I am now a certified advanced coach for the NC Special Olympics. Looking forward to coaching for the Fall Games.

Frown: I can't find an Aqua-Fresh Pump anywhere. Toothpaste from a tube? Do I have to live like common folk?

maybe I didn't get it in there far enough. I'll try again later. Either way, I'm getting no response. Win Explorer knows a disc is in there, but even trying to eject from WinExp I get an error message and absolutely no physical reaction (IE: no struggling noises) from the drive.
