you know with all this talk of SNES games getting too expensive, now is a good time to collect GBA. Still pretty affordable and it really feels like an expansion of the SNES library.

It has this strange melancholic air to it that you don't see in other JPRGs. I dunno, it's hard to explain. Just play the damn thing. Seems like the developer folded after a small handful of games which is a damn shame.

A lot of it is the music, but the artistic design helps, too. And it's freakin' hard. Maybe not EO: Untold on Expert hard, but definitely hard. There's a spiritual sequel in the form of Mystic Ark as well.

Also, one of my favorite covers / remixes of that game.

heh I don't think we will really have to worry about GBA games skyrocketing to SNES prices, we can thank the Chinese bootleggers for that. There is a never ending supply of bootleg carts and a vast majority of people don't know how to spot a fake or even care.

Ah ah ah now, the ninja brings up a good point. The GBA port of Super Ghouls & Ghosts is spot on with save function and also a new Arrange Mode. There has been other SNES games that made their way to the GBA.

There's a good list of SNES games that made it over, some pure, some with updates/additions. Pocky and Rocky added Becky and a password. Super GNG got a save, by stage(annoyingly saving remaining lives) and arrange mode too. Then you have pure Zelda Link to the Past but it has the tacked on multiplayer. There's the dissected Super mario all stars games into 3 carts with a modded Mario Bros and the fourth being a Yoshis Island port. Rtype3 which is costly is on there, and so is the shooter Phalanx. Blizzard brought up Lost Vikings, Blackthorne, and Rock n Roll Racing all with batteries dropping the passwords. There are the FF Advance carts for 4-6 and then the 1+2 famicom too.

There's a lot of solid SNES ports to the GBA, but again thanks to some amazing more recent years quality boots using non-degrading carts that die when batteries quit with convincing looking pins(c)nintendo on board and labels that are fairly hard to smell a rat it all helps. I'm glad the GBA hasn't been F'd up it's really the only non 8bit cart based Nintendo system where rape and pillage isn't the standard.

For what its worth, the GBA port of R-Type III is terrible. Don't wast your time.

As a fan of hyperbole, I, for one, will not be satisfied until rape-and-pillage is the standard for all video gaming systems.

Oh yes. I have Mystic Ark. Love it. There's a third game in the trilogy too! Good stuff.

Nice remix but I can't seem to recall what the original song is.
