What are you listening to at the present? (genres helpful)

Never heard of her? Well, feel free to thank me later. I highly suggest you click this link and instantly minimize your browser and listen. After that, actually watch the video and I'm sure you'll be a little surprised. Such an incredible voice.
Hot. (I checked her age before I said that) :P

Are you devastated with Thurston and Kim splitting up?

I thought it was pretty obvious that I was intentionally not talking about it.

EDIT: if I get a chance I'll take a pic of my SY collection to show you.

I have no clue how old she is. Looks like a very young "Pam" from the office. Her voice is incredible though.

Well as someone who believes everything he reads on the Internet, someone said 21.

And yes I agree, liked the music very much! Thanks for sharing.

noiseredux wrote:@s1mple, you should try to track down the Made In USA soundtrack SY recorded in '86 as well. It's like an Evol-companion piece.
Will do. Chances are pretty high I already have it one of my externals...

I love Murray, spare Plastic Sun. Rain on Tin is probably my favorite track, and Sympathy For The Strawberry is such a great closer.

Dirty...I could take it or leave it. As a whole it fails to impress me. Nic Fit and Creme Brulee...just nooo.

"Rain on Tin" actually morphed out of a solo Thurston improv track called "Alter Boy, Church Basement" taken from the really excellent improv disc Hurrican Floyd. I'd suggest you look into that as well.

"Sympathy" is my favorite track on Murray Street. Next time you put the record on, START with "Sympathy" for a change, and then let the disc start over proprely from there. I actually think it's a great opener -- they often opened with it live. SIGH. I saw them twice on the Murray Street tour. Even gave Thurston a hug. Oh and somewhere I have a pic of Kim holding up a piece of paper for me that says just says "NR"

THIS will hold me off for the longest time. Or at least till tuesday when Population Control and Violence Begets Violence come out. Also, Freddie Gibbs Cold Day in Hell mixtape FINALLY comes out on Halloween. The rest of the year looks pretty good for upcoming releases in the Rap genre.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this arrived a day early :). Liking it so far through the initial listen!
Never heard of M83 but was intrigued by their name and the album cover. Oddly enough, they sound more or less how I thought they would based on those two things. Midnight City is a good track, very 80's-esque. Gotta love electro-pop.

The single art is also pretty rad.

Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts is one of the best instrumental electronic albums of all time, and I'd recommend it to anyone. I've liked their stuff since then, too, but they haven't yet equaled Dead Cities, in my book.
