How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
If I ever find it locally by some small miracle I'll try it, but I don't intend to pay online for old Nintendo cart games if I can avoid it anymore as I'll leave the suckers to get fleeced by scalpers. I haven't looked up that one though, it could be still cheap for all I know.

I beat Super Metroid. Great game. The controls felt a little stiff and the jump-spin move was kind of hard for me to pull off. I was playing on a Wii U so I'm not sure if it handles better on an actual Super Nintendo.
This makes the third 2D Metroid I have beaten. I'd probably rank Super below Fusion; not sure if that is utter blasphemy to the die-hard fans. Fusion, from what I recall, was easier to navigate and backtracking was nowhere near as arduous a task as it was in Super Metroid.
I hope they make another 2D Metroid sometime.

Fusion is far and away my favorite Metroid.

The wall jump always bothered me, I was only passable at it at best. What's funny is that the instruction book makes zero mention of it whatsoever. You're at the mercy of those alien things who wordlessly explain it.

I'm not some huge Metroid fan, I refuse to ever speed run them for a bikini and all that, but yeah that's pretty blasphemous putting it well below Fusion. I found that game fairly terrible since they gimped out Samus horribly where a few hits would kill, refills sucked, and it was overly linear with a pretty pushy unnecessary story shoved in there to keep the kids entertained. Fusion didn't really backtrack much at all compared to a normal Metroid game. It's really my least favorite of the 2D titles by far. I keep thinking about buying it again but I can't motivate myself to.

Well we all know that Metroid Prime is the best Metroid game, but Fusion is probably the best 2D one. Come at me bros.

Well it's probably because I grew up with a Genesis and not a SNES so I played Fusion before SM, but I just find everything more refined, I mean Samus's suit stalking you is actually really terrifying
