At some point I need to grab these eps; I really enjoyed Bakemonogatari back in the day but haven't seen any of the other shows that have come out since then in the Monogatari series.

Second Season actually takes place after Nisemonogatari and Nekomonogatari (kuro), so be sure to see those first. It's all great.

Timeline-wise it does not all take place after. But the light novels were written after. For instance, Nekomonogatari takes place between Kizumonogatari and Bakemonogatari.

I need to catch up. Only watched 2 episodes of Monogatari Second Season. It's one of my favorite series. But I do feel like it's better marathoning it.

Yeah, I guess it would be more accurate to say some of Second Season takes place after Nise and Neko. It's still best to watch those first.

I'm having a lot of fun watching it one episode at a time after marathoning the older series (because I couldn't stop watching). I have a lot more time to think about each episode!

All the girls keep changing their appearances too. It's perfectly justified, but look at all the merchandising opportunities. We have no less than four variations of Hanekawa, right?

Episode 5 of Fullmetal Brotherhood made me feel weird.

Damn I just realized how long the One Piece anime has been going on  . Marathoned through it about a year ago and have been watching it weekly ever since  . Up to episode 616 as of the moment. I'm curious as to just how long they can keep the series going. Would be would be interesting to see a series with 1k+ episodes.

Edit:
I have to say the end of episode 616 was freaking awesome.

I really don't enjoy One Piece 1 episode at a time at all. Doesn't help with their super long intros, OP, and ED's... sometimes episodes feel like they're 10 minutes haha.

I usually let a whole arc finish up... and then marathon the entire thing over a weekend or something.

I'm definitely stocked up now though, think there's over 100 episodes I need to catch up on.

For the others... trust us, it's worth it. This show rocks.

I love One Piece but the pacing is definitely pretty awful. I would guess that on average each episode has about 15 minutes of new content.

I really hope that someday One Piece gets rereleased in a much more streamlined (and better animated) series, whether it be via movies or TV. Thinking about what the series would look like without the fat and with added polish practically makes me drool.

Anyone else like dubbed anime? I personally would rather watch the Japanese version, but I can't get over that (at least I do), tend to miss stuff while reading the subtitles. Learn Japanese you say? Oh, I have tried, not an easy language. Rosetta stone is a good program to help you, but unless you move to Japan and immerse your self in the culture and such; its just a pain.

So, I am stuck with dubbed anime series. If it is an anime that grabs my attention whole heart, then I will watch it with subs.

Just curious to know what other peoples preferences are on this subject. :?:

On the rare occasion I watch anime these days, I turn subtitles off, and switch it to Japanese dialogue.

Learn Japanese.

Honestly, though, I hate the translations whether subbed or dubbed. Gun to my head, I'd choose subbed over English dubbed in all but the rare case where the dubbing, and cast aren't ridiculously horrible, like GitS SAC for instance. Still prefer the Japanese casts, but sometimes the casting for English dubs isn't quite as horrible as others.
