Does the coolant overflow reservoir have liquid in it? If it's dry that's a problem. Distilled (not just tap or purified) water and coolant 50/50 to add if needed. If the engine has cooled for a few hours and you can pop the radiator cap, does it look corroded in there? If the engine is too warm to touch, don't open the radiator cap. Is the radiator fan coming on? Anything blocking air coming in to get to the radiator?

It's not mandatory to go, but I would be able to meet my instructors and visit the Museum of Funeral History. I want to make a good impression and this seemed like the opportunity to do so, but the P.O.S. hunk of metal and failure is preventing it. I had to drive home in 90 something degree weather from the DPS with the heater on full blast just to keep the stupid temperature below the red.

If I ever see the woman that sold it to me, I might just deck her. 'In great condition' my ass. I should have has a mechanic check it out, but no. I trusted her because she was my 'friend'. At the very least, I have a few less than lady like words for her.

Lemon law?

Add coolant, blast the heat full throttle, and try to make it. If you can't make it to the Open House, an email explaining why you couldn't make it should be satisfactory.
Good luck getting lemon law on someone isn't a dealership

:? Well after fighting with Emulators all day (mind you my bedtime is 10:00am), I finally found out what was going on.

1. The other emulator sucked. The new one is way faster, but for some reason there was still quite a bit of lag. At least the roms stopped crashing.

2. Wait, what!? My PSP 1000 is faster than my 2000? I thought the 2000 had better specs. For whatever reason, that doesn't seem to help... at all. To test this theory:

a. Tried loading the same roms on both systems.
b. Made sure the settings were identical.
c. Tried the same memory card on both systems, as well as others.

No matter what combination I used, the 1000 was always faster. In-fact, it's painfully obvious from the time the emulator boots up. The amount of lag while simply showing the opening cinematic is disgraceful on the 2000.

To be honest, this doesn't really disappoint me at all. I actually prefer my bulky PSP 1000. I'm just confused...

(Yay! Network play works with this new emulator!)

:D While playing Super Godzilla, my daughter grabbed her toy Godzilla and Mechagodzilla and made them fight. She would watch the screen and try to make the toys act out what she saw.

:( Car stuff. So sick of it. So tired right now that I can barely care.

I put water in where it says 'special engine coolant' this morning. I've never put actual coolant in it. The radiator is brand new and what we spent so much money on. Nothing is blocking the fan, but I can't tell if the fan is coming on or not. In a few hours I will open the radiator cap and put water in there as well. I never put distilled water in it, just water from the hose. What will happen if I mix the coolant with the regular water?

I bought the car from a friend and trusted her when she said that the car was in good condition, so I didn't have a mechanic double check it. I'm not interested in adding the stress and cost of suing someone across state lines. I'll just call the money we dumped into it a stupid tax and deal with it.

The drive is 30 + minutes on two toll ways. I don't feel safe putting the car or myself through that. Besides, showing up to the college drenched in sweat is just gross.

Short of an eight ball leather jacket, the guy definitely would be profiled as your typical thug, as much as I would be typically labeled as "Business Guy".

see, none of those things - even together - signify "thug" to me. They do signify a lower-incomer person that's adopted some conventional aspects of lower-income fashion/style/speaking, but that hardly makes them a "thug."

It sounds like your current car is a money pit. I think it is time to sell it or trade it toward something more reliable.

(Also, you probably should put actual coolant into it rather than just water. I'm not a mechanic, but that might actually be the cause of your problem...)

I put water in it because that's what the mechanic suggested. I'll research more to see if this is actually what is recommended. I want to sell it and put it towards a new car but right now we are waiting on paperwork to get it registered in Texas. There is little trade in value for PT Cruisers right now, and in it's condition I don't think we'll get anything for it.

See, none of those things, even together, signify "lower income" to me, at all. Are Lil Wayne and Ludacris of "lower income"? Obviously not. I take umbrage to your post. Not kidding.

Being a gang member does label and define someone as a thug. That's the entire point of being in a gang.

You are down south far enough where you should really need antifreeze. You aren't hurting anything by running water through it.

By the way you describe your overheating issue, I would suggest having the thermostat checked out. They are relitively inexpensive, just a matter of putting it on, which look like it may be tricky.

Some dealerships are nice and will give you more money than what your car is worth, but it usually comes at a cost. Having to finance your new vehicle through them is usually the minimum I believe.
