I'm not into HP, but just to let you know you hate a lot, and I mean a LOT of people. I think these days more people like HP more than Star Wars.

I'm not a fan of HP, but I just don't read or watch it. It doesn't appear to be actually brain damaging. My parents have read some of the books and enjoyed them. So not my cup of tea, but I see nothing wrong with it.

Also, Star Wars was 'intended for kids'. I know Lucas has said this several times, at least about the older movies.

Up until I'd say the past decade or so, video games were marketed almost exclusively towards kids.

*insert C S Lewis quote about how being afraid to enjoy childish things is a sign of immaturity*

I have also never read a Harry Potter book nor seen any of the films. I've actually barely noticed the hype since the one Harry Potter fanatic I knew at work has been on leave for quite a while now.

I watched one of the HP movies and it wasn't bad. The CGI was awful at some points but that doesn't make a bad movie just as good cgi make a movie good. I"m not sure what chamber or hallow HP was in the movie I saw, but I do remember HP lived in a closet.

I also remember the movie's score being very well written.

They've all looked like whimsical, fun adventure films to me. I'd be lying if I said they didn't interest me at all.

I mean a movie series that lasts 8 films, supposedly maintains at least a watchable level of quality throughout, and actually has a grand finale as opposed to just pittering out in mediocrity? That's something special there. Shit most franchises can't even make it to 3 films without going completely down the gutter.

So yeah I plan to get around to watching them for myself sometime... maybe I'll post my thoughts/experiences when I do?

Also awful CGI is pretty much a staple of movies circa 1996-2006 or so
