Truth.

Anyway, McFang and Soul Blazer are both the big names that I want to track down, but there are others that interest me. I've actually collected most of the JRPGs on the console, but I've hardly begun on the Western RPGs. I need to snag Wizardry V, Might & Magic III, Obitus, and the handful of SNES Ultima games.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a few WRPGs, but there are a lot I'm missing. I know I've got a copy of Eye of the Beholder, I think I have one of Dungeon Master, and I maaaaaay have a copy of Obitus, but my memory has gone fuzzy on that.

I'm actually missing very few of the SNES JRPGs that we got. No Harvest Moon or Brandish, and... no E.V.O.. Maybe there are others I'm missing? Dunno. Not many more than that, unless you start getting into sim games.

I don't really "collect" anything that I won't one day play, so I would like a full set of SNES RPGs released in the USA because I'd like to think I'd eventually get to playing all of them.

Sure. At some point I'd eventually like to have beaten all SNES games, or at least played through them(there are some that I doubt I will ever beat, such as Populous). But you and I have definitely been hammering through SNES RPGs. If all SNES games is the dream, all NTSC-U SNES RPGs is the big goal. And I'm looking forward to getting through more and bouncing thoughts off of you. Robotrek will be the next one I take a crack at.

I am still missing a fair bit: Earthbound, Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, Brandish, and Dragon View are not in my collection, to name a few.

Dragon View is one of my absolute favorites. It's almost like what you'd get if Zelda were a belt-scroller. Only real downer is that chunky, clunky 3D overworld that surprisingly doesn't even try to employ Mode 7. (Neither does Brandish, either!)

Lufia and the Fortress of Doom is unfortunately rather primitive. It's very much a prettier NES RPG, rather than a proper SNES RPG like FFIV or Lufia 2.

Yeah, I've played it a bit. It's more than a little rough, but I'm sure I will find something enjoyable in the experience when I do finally get to it.

There's one fight somewhat early on where you have to solo a boss, and it's the worst part in the game. You'll end up going through a cycle of attack/heal/attack/heal through the entire fight. If you get any attack items save them; it makes the fight easier.

I'd really be interested in your take on Lufia, the game really shows its age in some areas but the story/dialog is easily one of the best of the era.

Ugh, easily the hardest part of the game. You have to grind Breath of Fire style like nuts before that boss fight.

Another awful part of Lufia game: fixing the bridge.
