Guess I'm the only one playing FPS. I was distracted by a little thing called AAA titles on GOG this week. Saints Row, dammit.
I really did play. I cleared mission 9. Even though the objectives were light, I still had to reset a million times. Now we're at the presidential palace. I can only imagine the final 2 missions being the worst ever. I will be attempting it later today.

Are you playing on hard? GRAW is rather challenging but it was easier than any of its predecessors.ExedExes wrote:Exhuminator wrote:It's been nearly a week and a half, no field reports. Have you gone AWOL soldier?![]()

I find it hard to believe you played Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on PC. If you played GRAW on any other platform, it was a totally different experience due to different developers.BoringSupreez wrote:GRAW is rather challenging but it was easier than any of its predecessors.
As far as earlier games on the same platform go, prior GR games on PC let you save anywhere at anytime. GRAW PC does not, instead it gives you sadistic checkpoints. That aspect alone makes PC GRAW ten times harder than its PC GR predecessors.
Care to chime in ExedExes? Or do you think he's right?

Oh, I didn't realize he was playing on PC. I played the 360 version. Yeah, no checkpoints would suck.Exhuminator wrote:I find it hard to believe you played Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on PC. Yep, the PC and 360 versions had totally different development teams. Thus they are very different games.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Yes, I'm playing on PC. The console ports were developed by several Ubisoft divisions; the PC port was done by GRIN, with a rather fittingly sadistic logo.Exhuminator wrote:Care to chime in ExedExes? Or do you think he's right?
I see the 360 port also has the shoot from cover mode like from Rainbow Six Vegas. Can't do that on the PC. You get checkpoints on the PC but they're spaced in the most unexpected and infrequent of locations. So then the 360 probably gives you a more playable experience but you ain't met GRAW tough until you play here.
I'm doing this on the normal difficulty btw.

Mission 10 complete. I DON'T EVER WANNA SEE IT AGAIN KTHXBAI.
Mainly because while I was loading the most recent checkpoint (each scrambler destroyed got one, so that was good) I ended up clicking the wrong button and DELETED it. That cost me a day's worth of time to do that again.
Today was spent trying to comprehend why the heck you didn't get a checkpoint after playing tank commander in front of the palace and using them as movable cover to stop all the stuff shooting at you as you try to enter, only to find out the guy runs away with the suitcase *again*. At this point I only had one squad member. It took me hours of restarts, but on that last try he did well taking out all the enemies ahead of me.
So what does that mean?
Final mission.
I'm already at the supply drop. All members alive and at full health too. I'm not cutting any corners; I need all the (sometimes dumb) help I can get. I will be beating it this week, then I'm taking a well deserved vacation in Steelport before I even attempt another FPS for a while. GRIN has bent me but will not break me!

I don't know you, but I am proud of you for making it this far. I for one know what you've been through. Pure digital FPS hell, the likes of which no average gamer will ever experience, or would have the fortitude to endure. You are already an elite virtual soldier to have made it this far.ExedExes wrote:So what does that mean?
Final mission.
But everything you've done thus far is nothing in comparison to what lies ahead. The final mission of GRAW PC is the most difficult, most intense, most grueling torturous digital battle I personally have ever survived in a first person shooter.
It will not be easy. It will not be fun. But you can do it. You can taste the sweet victory that so very few before you have managed to accomplish. You can punch that smiling grin right in its teeth. You can claim to have beaten Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on PC. All those before you who have tried and failed will know you are the truest of true soldiers.
