I made my weekly run to the Goodwill Computer Works store here in Charlotte, NC...I picked up:

Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Vol. 2 (DC; CIB) - $2.99
Pac Pix (NDS; CIB) - $2.99
Yoshi's Island DS (NDS; CIB) - $13.99
007: The World is Not Enough (PS1; CIB) - $1.99
Cyberspeed (PS1; CIB; long box) - $2.99
Herdy Gerdy (PS2; CIB) - $1.99

I also grabbed five GameBoy dust covers for $2.99 (which is a bit more than I had been paying...but I finally have enough to cover every Gameboy and Gameboy Color game in my collection). Finally, I picked up a complete, black-label copy of Star Fox Assault (NGC) for $9.99 from a local pawn shop on my way back.

Overall, this was a lot of gaming goodness for not that much money. The Midway collection includes Moon Patrol, which - amazingly - was not included in any of the Midway Arcade Treasures compilations released for the NGC/PS2/XBOX. (It is also an amazing game that EGM's 200th issue ranked as one of the greatest games of its time.) My daughter is already thrilled with the prospect of watching me play through Yoshi's Island, and 007: The World is Not Enough conpletes my PS1 James Bond sub-collection. Finally, I am always thrilled to add another PS1 long box to my collection, and Cyberspeed brings my long box total up to 41. (I have been adding a lot of long box games recently...my total last month was likely in the mid-thirties. I have not been trying to add them quickly, but I have been lucky to stumble on some good titles "in the wild".)

found a white wireless (but dirty) XBOX 360 controller with a charger pak attached for $1.99 last night at a thrift store.

cleaned it (very white now), no worn out analog sticks, plug it in, works like new!!! priceless. :)

Moon Patrol is actually an Irem game, so I'm actually surprised it was included on that compilation.

I did not realize that...but it likely explains why its appearance in Midway collections is so spotty. (Williams had the North American publishing rights and advertised it as a Williams game.) I knew that it was included in Arcade Hits: Moon Patrol & Spy Hunter for the GBC, but I just discovered that it also appears in Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits - The Midway Collection 2 for the PS1.

I still need that Midway DC collection myself. Moon Patrol as one of my absolute favorite games on 2600 growing up. I even remember when I was like 8 yrs old I painted a picture in art class of a scene from Moon Patrol. Haha.

Nice. It really is a great game, which is why I find the lack of really good home conversions a bit disturbing.

The Commodore 64 version is pretty good. It doesn't look perfect, but the gameplay is great. But I get what you mean, it isn't all that available as a perfect port compared to other beloved old arcade games.

Exactly. For such a beloved classic, you would expect more recent ports. Oh well...maybe at some point we will see "Moon Patrol HD" on the 360 and PS3...

In order to cheer me up from what happened my mom brought me to my favorite restaurant and then game trade.
I bought Sonic Adventure (DC,CIB) for 10
Marvel vs Capcom 2 case only 5$
She paid for the two things.

Picked up some SNES craigslist finds today.

Super Bomberman - $10
Ogre Battle - $30
Sunset Riders - $30
Knights of the Round - $30

Ebay value for everything is around $150-$200 so overall not too shabby for $100.
