I'm at work, so this image is blocked by the corporate web filter, but I'm really hoping it's a picture of Super 3D Noah's Ark.

Any time anyone brings this up, I think of the other Exile video game...

GameFAQs seems to think they're the same game.

It's kinda like if Studio Ghibli made a Rune Factory game.

Reviews are relatively positive, given the niche genre:

Here's a trailer:

I bought it! Gotta have something sweet and innocent to offset all the vile evil games I play.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

That is fantastic news. The only legal way to play the game, before, was to get it through a Japan-only, limited edition, bluray for some anime. It would easily set people back three figures to procure. Melty Blood has had an avid arcade community in Japan for at least a decade, now. I'm glad that I no longer feel the need to spend the money on the PS2 version of Actress Again.

I have Popolocrois Monogatari I and II, and Popologue for the Playstation, but I didn't get a Rune Factory feeling from them. Is this new one more of a simulation game? The beginning of Popolocrois Monogatari is quite a bit more dark than one might expect.

Hmm... I'm not sure that's quite what I had in mind. Probably not far removed from Darksiders' brand of "Christianity", although with a more distinct anime influence. And of course, the hero, Sadler, is a Syrian assassin. Hey, it's a precursor to the Assassin's Creed games, amirite? ;)

In all seriousness, though, I played through this one years ago, and it's a pretty fun game. I wouldn't mind tracking down a copy for the Genesis.

And wow, that plot for XZR1... no wonder they didn't localize that one!

So I found that the Beam Software-developed Nightshade (NES) would have probably had a sequel. That never happened. Instead, the creator of that game ended up overseeing the development for the Beam-created Shadowrun (SNES), and many of those Nightshade elements made it into that game!

Additionally, elements of that engine in Shadowrun may have worked their way into Super Solitaire (SNES), years later, also developed by Beam.
