Speaking off these old PC platformers, Bio Menace is free on GOG.com. Haven't sunk my teeth into it, but what I have played was enjoyable.

Yeah, I've considered picking it up a few times since it's free, but I'd like to hear other folks' thoughts on it if possible since it's not a genre I'm really into. Eventually I'd like to beat all of the free games on GOG, but I don't worry to much about it.

When I was a kid I got my cousins Amiga 600 with 3 boxes of blank/hand written labels. Nothing more fun than seeing the weird and bootleg games on those discs

Yes, it was called Mario's Game Gallery. There are lots of video mashups of that game on YouTube.

I had Mario is Missing for PC. Don't judge. I needed DOS games to play in the 90s!

I've had it for years, and I agree with what Ancient DOS Games felt about it; first episode is fun enough in its own right, the second and third episodes have some real confusing and downright evil level design.

I always found it interesting that Mega Man 6 on the NES was published by Nintendo in North America rather than Capcom (who had decided not to pursue it).

Insofar as more obscure Mega Man licensing goes, I've always been intrigued by the Mega Man DOS games released under license in North America by Hi-Tech Expressions. Despite the fact that they are called Mega Man and Mega Man III (there was no II), they are original games and not ports. They kind-of-sort-of resemble "traditional" Mega Man games, but at the same time they also look significantly worse. Although I have a morbid curiosity about these games, I've never tried them. I'm sc'rd.

I owned Mega Man III (DOS) as a kid. I bought a copy at a grocery store for a few dollars. My computer was way too fast for it, rendering it completely unplayable.

Eh... I played them during their time of release. They weren't good back then. They aren't any better now. AVGN seemed to agree:

I had one of them too, can't remember which. Definitely do remember it wasn't the same game as the NES one.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread
