N64 I would love to see that happen, such a great little system that was underrated and had such a great library that I wish as a kid I would've explored more...and no matter what anyone says dk64 is great(despite needing that expansion pack). I just wish I knew what patents are still in effect and everything that are holding that up. I know good and well there are some still out there that are active that holds this up...but most of them apparently from everything I keep hearing are on their way out soon...(still wish nintendo used the d-pad from this system back...looks a lot better than the cross-hatch type deal they use now)

I'd rather see GG than N64 personally.

Isn't N64 emulation on the PC still kinda rough?

Playing Japanese RPGs in English doesn't interest you? I think that's the best thing about the system now.

I would love to see N64 compatibility in a future release, but I would like Atari 2600/7800 compatibility a lot more...

They should just make one that has several interchangeable parts(pins) and make adapters for it. That way it doesn't become a monster and you have the one you want availible. Sounds crazy but that has been something I've imagined for several things...

edit: better yet they should make another use for that micro usb port. We all know that we're using oem/other third party controllers anyways why not make a n64, and etc extenstion pack that would add support for these(along with a update to the system allowing you to make use of them of course)

Well yes N64 emulation is rough, no one has bothered really to ever try and do it right, instead of trying to do as accurate as possible using high level emulation (shortcuts and hacks) for speed over accuracy.

I think it's already kind of long, probably best if they did make adapters if it could be done without introducing lag. They could keep the R5 in production, then have added parts if people wanted them for the other systems using the USB micro port in the back then just add a pass through so you could still charge the controller through it.

I had been on the fence about getting the Retron 5. I'm just starting to try to shift my retro-gaming away from roms and piracy and over toward collecting and legit games.

Then I saw that ThinkGeek suddenly had Retron 5s in stock, with free shipping, at MSRP. So I ordered one. I'm thinking, this'll be neat, maybe I'll love it, or maybe I won't and I'll flip it on eBay in a month.

Now I see that they've added game patching/translation support? WHAT!!?? This is so exciting!

I had basically sworn off collecting SNES games because all the games I'm interested in playing are too expensive. But this opens up a whole new avenue for me. I'm buying Mother 2 and Crono Trigger for the Super Famicom on eBay right now!

I'm so glad to see that Hyperkin is putting so much work in to the software for this thing. I think the only other thing I'd like to see them do is support alternate bluetooth gamepads. Have you guys seen this thing? Image

If not support for generic Bluetooth gamepads, maybe an improved official Retron gamepad. Hyperkin makes some pretty good third party reproductions of classic gamepads; I think if they went back to the drawing board with their wireless gamepad and made something more familiar and "retro," they could definitely sell a few. Retron 5 "Classic Controller," anyone?

I see some of you guys are not into the idea of playing translated imports of games that had official US releases, but for me it's a step up from just running a rom on my HTPC, and I'm excited about the possibilities of fan translations as well.

What import games are you guys most looking forward to playing?

That NES pad on steroids looks cool, but screw that, SNES pads are way more comfortable with the rounded ends. Sure there's the dogbone, but if you can use a SNES controller, there's no point.
