Re: THE 2010 CHARITY AUCTION - ITEMS ARRIVED - ANY PROBLEMS?

Post by Anapan »

I think this should be wrapped up. The next one can have its rules modified to make extenuating circumstances like inter-continental lag and non paying bidders dealt with appropriately. Maybe have the slush of refund money for those items that apply to said circumstances be combined with the slush fund for shipping and have the remainder if-any be transferred via an update post later? I'll be adding more extra shipping funds to help make this go smoother next time and I encourage those able to do the same to follow the lead that the mods have been doing since this idea started.

These are two of the four items I have had reported to me as missing this week...anyone else still waiting for something that you expect to arrive? Post them here so that hopefully the donor(s) can explain what happened.

If you want a refund, you can still let me know.

Maybe he just forgot again?

If it is a matter of delayed shipment, I would like my game. But if it actually is lost in the mail (and I don't expect delivery confirmation on a $3 item), I am fine "losing" $3 to charity.

Any news here? This seems to be taking a very long time to come to a close.

The auction business is all over. Those stragglers who needed reimbursement or refund were reimbursed or refunded, and the auction money was sent late last month. I plan to post any reply letter I get from MAW here if/when I get it. If people want me to I can post a copy of the cashed checks when I get them from my bank (we sent one to Make a Wish US and one to Make A Wish International).

It did take about a month or two longer to wrap up everything this year, but considering how many more people and items were involved I am not shocked. I am kicking around some ideas to streamline things next year...
