I played a game called Prostitute Maker today. A 1993 strategy game for the Sharp X68000. I was okay with it at first, until I realized the point of the game was to not just make prostitutes, but to actually pimp your own daughter out. As in, the only prostitute in the game is your daughter. Who of course is underage. And for some strange reason is okay with her dad turning her into a prostitute. :? I had to shut that one down. I mean I'm pretty crazy, but even I have limits.

I'm no prude and have really enjoyed games like Knights of Xentar and Brave Soul... but if you dive into the late 80s / early 90s h-scene on Japanese computers you'll find some really vile and reprehensible shit.

Here's a really random gaming thought...

I've had an idea for a while called "Exhuminator's Community Challenge" where I would issue a gaming challenge for the forum to try and beat. Each challenge would be different and bi-weekly, or maybe monthly. The only reward being special badges for your sig, and the warm and fuzzy feeling of defeating a gaming challenge. This wouldn't be meant for competition, just community jollies.

I have no idea if this is a good idea or not. Is this dumb?

And no my first challenge would not be PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Of course not; beating it would be the challenge.

I might be interested. Really depends on what sort of challenges you are thinking of and how much advance notice you plan to give for them. Like if they required a particular game then it then it might take a little while to get the game (unless it's emulatable) but if it's a little more general then advance notice isn't as important.

Definitely curious on what sort of challenges you are thinking of though.

I'd be curious to see what you came up with. I think the challenge in proctoring something like this would be making sure the goals are challenging, but at the same time achievable (unless it was the sort of thing that was explicitly intended to separate the "elite" from the "casuals").

I don't know man, it's hard enough just to get people to play one.
