I'm with you 100%. You can't really enjoy yourself if you feel buried under piles of crap.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm hoping to get that standing desk for my arcade setup in the very near future. Once I have that, I think it'll be time for some updated game room pics. I mean, all the stray console stuff should be cleared out soon, too.TSTR wrote:+1 for nice and neat
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I used to have a series of shelves I put up myself from Ikea; these were wall mounted with a hidden bracket. But the ended up sagging really badly. Then I got something a bit more professionally done, though it's simple enough that if I had the carpentry skills and the time I could have done it myself. Essentially it's a bracket that is mounted to the wall running near the top and then coming away from the wall at a 45 degree angle, then a series of vertical pieces of wood with a notch cut in that hangs on the bracket; a French cleat. Then shelves are attached to the wood just like with a bookcase. It looks really nice and is quite sturdy and stable.

I've always heard bad things about Ikea. We don't have that shit in Maine.

A neat store, the cheap bastard in me always goes first the reverse direction past the cash registers to the clearance area. Oh and best to learn the "escape doors" to quickly bypass the tour the store rat maze to get directly to a certain area.noiseredux wrote:I love Ikea. Seriously. I have fun going there.

That's an amazing deal. I will probably contribute contributed despite the fact that I own almost all of those games!Sarge wrote:Just in case anyone misses it in the gaming deals thread, there's a Nintendo Humble Bundle going now, with the following (hat tip to fastbilly for the post over there):

I always forget how long the Atari 2600 lifespan was. Not counting the new AtariAge stuff, games continued to be published until 1990. That's after the Genesis and TG16 were released in the US. Imagine growing up in a house with just Atari. Your friends would be playing Altered Beast and Keith Courage but you'd be rocking some Sentinel.
