you really do. I love The Game, and all his studio albums are quality. (I haven't heard 2.5 yet, but 2 is good). His first album The Documentary is a classic. It's got a lot of G-Unit influence still, but everything is so solid on there. Doctor's Advocate is way more left field. But so gangsta. It reminds me of a 2Pac album really. LAX is a bit glossier, but I thought it was fantastic. The Red Album is a mess - but an awesome mess. Jesus Piece is really weird and awesome. Year Of The Wolf is the most uneven record he's released, but it's more a posse album. Then there's indie albums on Get Low, which eh, you should hear the major label stuff first before digging too deep. But yeah, you can't really go wrong. If you like 2 and 2.5, you'll like the rest. He's been one of my favs for yearsssss now.mister j-y wrote:I never listened to The Game, until these Documentary 2 and 2.5 shits. If this quality is indicative I have quite some catching up to do.

Thanks Noise! Wow yep that's a lot of stuff - the G-Unit stuff was what put me off I hated all that.

Pusha T came out with a new track. Besides the lazy chorus, I'm enjoying what I'm hearing.

I've been digging Yelawolf's stuff. Check out "American You" and "Best Friend".

Em is just getting to a level that seems to transcend everyone else as well. If someone can name another active MC with his lyrical skill, please share.

^^it's aight. i don't really care for the kid rock, everlast whitey ford thing. i like him better when he's actually rapping. i can appreciate him stepping outside the genre though, cause it's not bad.
Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
I can appreciate that. The diversity is kind of what I like about it, the guy doesn't really have to collaborate. I do happen to like Everlast though, specifically the Whitey Ford album...so that could definitely be a fair comparison. I think Yela is a bit more talented though.stickem wrote:^^it's aight. i don't really care for the kid rock, everlast whitey ford thing. i like him better when he's actually rapping. i can appreciate him stepping outside the genre though, cause it's not bad.
What did you think of Em's verse? Or are you not a fan of him either?
Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
if you mean eminem, i always loved the guy, even though he gets a little whiney at times. i know he signed yela to his label, but i don't think he has a verse on american you, unless i missed it.
and i'm a big fan of HoP, la coka nostra, but not a fan of everlast singing lol.

Eminem has a verse on Best Friend, which is the better song in my opinion. Yela has less southern rock influence in it (although still present), but Eminem kills it.stickem wrote:if you mean eminem, i always loved the guy, even though he gets a little whiney at times. i know he signed yela to his label, but i don't think he has a verse on american you, unless i missed it.

Freddie Gibbs and Redman have recently dropped some new albums, I need to get around to picking them up. Off the new Freddie Gibbs album I've been listening to 'Fucking Up The Count' (https://youtu.be/23O2U41p6cY).
