Not at all based on human decency. I guess then it's okay if the terrorists go into your backyard and steal your dog then use it as bait. Or are you just as upset about the fish in the stream they caught?BoringSupreez wrote:The reason people are attacking you viewpoint, Burning, is that it's inconsistent and based on nothing in particular other than your own feelings.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Either way it is based on a person's own feelings. I would be upset personally if someone stole my dog and held it hostage, but I wouldn't care about the fish. I know people who wouldn't care about either, and I know people who would be just as upset about the fish as the dog. Its just how the specific person views things.BurningDoom wrote:Not at all based on human decency. Would you think differently if it was a goat? Or a chicken?BurningDoom wrote: Not at all based on human decency. I guess then it's okay if the terrorists go into your backyard and steal your dog then use it as bait. Or are you just as upset about the fish in the stream they caught?

I'm excited to finally get married this spring. In part, it's because I love my fiancee and getting hitched will be awesome. More and more, I'm tired of watching her freak out over wedding planning and want that part to end already.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Awesome
And now that I brought it up: I never understood why people waste a fortune on a huge wedding. I'd rather spend all that money on an amazing honey moon and to use it on buying an amazing house for me and my wife to start our life there.

I insisted from the get-go to have no wedding at all, to just elope and spend some cash in Hawaii, and my wife herself preferred a small wedding, but my wife's parents were having none of it. Still, we didn't spend that much (roughly $20,000), and her parents had already put away most of it precisely for the occasion.ZeroAX wrote:And now that I brought it up: I never understood why people waste a fortune on a huge wedding. I don't know, either. We've earmarked only $6K USD for the whole thing. $2K for the ceremony and reception, and $4K for the honey moon. As it stands right now, we're WAY under budget.ZeroAX wrote: And now that I brought it up: I never understood why people waste a fortune on a huge wedding. It's not a mystery that most marriages fail because of debt - but so many people are down with starting their lives together up to their eyes in it. We've got everything paid for already.

It depends on if it were somebody's pet and it was stolen, that wouldn't be okay, no. If it was their chicken or goat raised for food, that's entirely different.ZeroAX wrote:Would you think differently if it was a goat? Not having a wedding will always be a lifetime regret. I speak from unexperieince.
I had an incredible phone conversation today:
"Hey Bill, it's Luke. What's shaking?"
'Enjoying every breath and every moment of life. Busy times, but how are you?'
"Full throttle as always. Luckily sos is never sos. What'cha up to?"
'Working on the theme for the Superman and Batman movie".
Miraculous. I don't know if this means early retirement for the guy, but I expect him to make a boat load of cash. Maybe?

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I understand getting in debt to buy a house, and maybe some basics to start your life (non-expensive furniture, family car, ect.), but it's the idea of wasting it all on a giant party that everyone EXCEPT the couple getting married enjoys, that I just hate.Flake wrote: It's not a mystery that most marriages fail because of debt - but so many people are down with starting their lives together up to their eyes in it. So just so we are clear, it's ok for me to buy a dog from the pet shop to cook it, right?BurningDoom wrote: It depends on if it were somebody's pet and it was stolen, that wouldn't be okay, no. If it was their chicken or goat raised for food, that's entirely different.
And it goes without saying that the goat and chicken are not somebody's pets, cause that would be stealing.
I was going to say "meh, early retirement is overrated", but then I remembered the person you are talking about is American and he probably gets 5 days off of work a year.Luke wrote: Miraculous.
