I'm sorry to come off as a troll, I just don't have anywhere to put my feelings other than here. I'm not going to break down to one of my teachers or one of my parents about this stuff, and I don't feel like anybody else wants to hear it, so it gets dumped here. Excuse me if its a problem.
Not directly calling you a troll, but more saying you might as well be now. As this is the same basic story or situation that repeats every few weeks, and then everyone replies with the same responses over and over.

Forlorn, if you ever decide you want to find a good psychologist, shoot me a PM and I can help you know what to look for. I'm about 5 months away from a PhD in psychology, so I know a lot about this area. The people I would recommend wouldn't talk about Oedipal complexes and will focus on what you can control to improve your life. As Ack said earlier, you're no less a man for asking for help when it's needed. There is strength in vulnerability.

It's been about 6 or 7 years since I actively did any sketching and I was never particularly good at it. I bought Art Academy on Wii U and it's a great little program. I'm super rusty but I think I'll be using it a bit more.

Yo, some crazy shit is going down right now like a few houses down from me. 5 cop cars and 4 EMTs/paramedics. I'm Rear-Windowing like hell with some binoculars.

EDIT: Okay, final count: 5 cop cars, 5 EMT vehicles, and a fire truck. I didn't see anybody coming out in handcuffs, just someone getting loaded into an ambulance. I reckon one of the older people that live around here must have had a medical incident. Hope it works out okay for them.

So I have been doing alot of research for my garden this year and I came to a realization. Not terribly long ago, the USA was about the betterment of the whole. During WW2 we had Victory Gardens at homes, and in neighborhood parks. They were maintained by the people, for the people, so the real farmers products could go to the soldiers. However today, we have neighbors who are at each others throats for grass an inch to high. I mean what happened to us? Heck my neighborhood got up in arms when I asked to put in a fence in my backyard that cannot be seen by anyone but people on my property (surrounded by trees and an existing privacy fence), to keep the deer out of my garden.

My request was for a standard five foot chain length fence, same as what I already have around the pool, I was just going to extend that fence out and around another section (I am aware deer can jump over 5 feet, but with a mesh on it so they cant see through it and so they will not jump the fence). So despite it not being visible, my request got shot down because it would lower property values. Our rules say nothing about temporary fencing, just permanent, so I am building several sets of riot fencing instead. We lost most of our harvest last year because of these deer, so did others in the neighborhood, so the HOA has decided it is not approving any fences because they have had so many requests.

People moved to the suburbs, retreated into their homes, and withdrew from socializing with their neighbors.

Thankfully, I now live in a diverse, gentrified area of a major city. Having grown up in the suburbs - and while people certainly have some disputes with their immediate neighbors - and the level of involvement people have with their community and neighbors is astounding. (We even have a well-maintained community garden.) Perhaps because it is such a great place to live, our property values continue to skyrocket despite the fact that there are no HOAs breathing down our necks about the length of our grass and the color of our homes.

Well that certainly stinks. Have you considered bending the rules and putting up the fence anyway? My HOA is a bit cut throat, but it has been almost four years and I still haven't installed a railing for the stairs that lead to my front door.

Of course if they'll make you take it down it isn't worth your time or money, but if your HOA handles claims very s-l-o-w-l-y you might be able to get away with it. If your neighbors don't complain, perhaps no one will.

Actually, his HOA is openly fraudulent, so...yeah...

I have it on good authority that problems with HOAs is why Bone lives out in the boonies.

I moved out of the 'burbs and into the boonies to get away from home owners associations too. They didn't like my dog, my grass, my trees, my car, or my face. HOAs are biggest ant on the anthill. Any tiny amount of power or influence is used as justification to harass the neighbors.

Now I live in a place where deer in the backyard isn't considered a nuisance; it's considered good hunting. I can have livestock in my backyard, and I don't need to ask permission from anyone.

By the way, community gardens still exist. I am going to be participating in a community garden this spring.
