So apparently Jericho has been suspended for kicking a Brazilian flag. He nearly got arrested too

This is so stupid. He's a freaking heel. He was doing his damn job.

I hate how over sensitive we are in this world. It's just a stupid flag. It's just a THING. A piece of cloth on a damn stick and you want to throw someone in jail for that? It's not like he assaulted or mugged someone for crying out loud. And we were just about to have a very promising Orton/Jericho feud and it's not going to happen because of Brazil's stupid laws.

I get patriotism, but this is stupid. I guess freedom of speech doesn't apply everywhere and apparently some people are too stupid to realize that the guy gets paid to play a villain. Insulting people's countries or states has been in wrestling for years. It's the good guys job to beat up the mean and nasty villain for insulting the fans that way. It's all part of the act.

So stupid.

Hey, this is Brazil were talking about. Be glad he wasnt drug into a back alley and shot.

This kind of thing is so old hat its not even noteworthy. Hell i remember them doing Princess Dianna bits not to long after her death at a UK show. It was crass and tasteless, but its wrestling, its kinda par for the course.

Hell they did all kinds of stuff during the old Heart Foundation hates America story.

And why suspend him for something he was probably told to do.

Thats like my boss requiring me to use a text book for class and then docking my pay for using it after he decides it wasn't a good idea.

There are plenty of people who essentially worship their country's flag and government. Did you see that teacher, I think in Missouri, recently who got suspended for not letting a student question Obama's decisions when it was relevant to the class and they did it in a respectful manner? The teacher was the one who started swearing, getting emotional, raising her voice and yelled at the student. "You are not allowed to slander any president; past or present!!!" (since when is questioning the same as slander???). Flag worship at its best (or worst?).

Pure BS.

Thoughts? Speculation?
Clearly, it's either Scoot Hall or Marty Jannetty.

Canada's laws (see HBK and his flag stuff) are considerably different.

Linda is running for office. This comes into play.

There is no way they told him to kick the flag.

Different countries have laws that have to be respected - regardless of if one considers them stupid or not. There's a reason he apologized in the ring.

Could be a good "out" for his Fozzy tour anyway.

Are there any Brazilian babies you can kick while you're at it?

Good grief, I'm embarrassed for you with this post.

I'm embarrassed you'd compare kicking a piece of cloth on a stick to kicking a human child

My point was - after all that venom directed at a culture and their laws and society, you mine as well kick their dog (or a baby) while you're at it.

And I'm not advocating for any certain belief or law, just the awareness that there are others out there that have different ideals.

At the end of the day, it's just professional wrestling.

He apologized to not go to jail. He didn't have to mean it. It is a mistake on his part to not know the law, but i doubt that thought had come up previously.

Laws are different true, but what differentiates the HBK antis and this?

Had he not gotten in legal trouble would WWE have cared, i highly doubt it.

Why are we seeing 1-on-1 matches less and less in wrestling. 3-way matches, battle royales, non-established tag-teams in tag-team battles, tournaments, etc. are all almost expected nowadays. And then the few 1-on-1 matches we do see get interfered in (which yeah, that's a wrestling tradition, but it used to be that just many ended clean as were interfered in, that's not the case anymore).

I like a good one-on-one match, especially if it's a great rivalry, And when it's a great rivalry, and the match ends clean, that's even better IMO.

Just a random thought.
