Glad you gave it a chance noise, D is top 10 games of all time for me, due to the experience of playing it.There are 2 different endings and a bunch of the scarabs to find to piece the disturbing scenes together. If you do get stumped on some of the puzzles you can look at your mirror for clues which breaks after 3 uses.

Short game yes, but truthfully replay is still there, when you memorize the puzzles the flow of the game becomes more of like watching a movie.

Ds Diner is a directors cut which has all the extra footage, I believe its only available for the 3DO imported from japan!

Good write up man :)

^I knew you'd be pleased. Yeah I totally loved it. Only had trouble with two puzzles: wasn't sure what to do with the paper in the beginning, and just totally over-thought the constellation puzzle which was way more obvious than I realized. Other than that, I had no problems making it through pretty easily. But yeah. Felt like just interacting with a crazy F'd up movie.

Just imagine playing back then... mind blowing!

I think most people dismissed it then, but I was always an obscure kinda guy.

Tek, should I play D2 or Enemy Zero next in the series? D2 is the proper sequel, but Enemy Zero came out first, right?

I stuck with D only surprisingly, the rest of the series did too much changing around from what I understand. Different gameplay mechanics, perspectives and using the D storyline loosely.

I dont think its a must to play the others to complete the saga or anything.

Edit: If you happen to find out first hand, please let me know!
I probably wont ever own a DC again to play D2, and Enemy Zero is on my maybe list but I dont like the prices Ive seen it go for (wouldnt spend more than $25-30 on this cib & minty imo).

From what I've seen, they're both great games. I played D2 when it first came out on DC, way back when and enjoyed the heck out of it.

my understanding is that the 3 games have nothing in common other than that they all star a woman named Laura. That said, I feel like it's a "thematic series" if you will. And the first game has me interested enough in Eno's work to see what else he concocted.

Sounds like a valid reason to me. 8)
