So, it looks like Gaymercon has been fully funded, and will take place in August of next year. Unfortunately, it's in San Francisco, which is waaaaaaaayyyy out of the way for me. But, I'll see if I can figure out a way to go.

Why the hell can minorities get away with crap like this and the rest of us can't? Not saying I want to, I just think it should be an equal expectation across the board. If we can't have Hetero-Sexual Gamer-Con or Straight-Bars (vs. gay bars) without being hassled for it, why can they?

Probably becasue American mass culture is predominantly slanted towards hetero/white/Christian/male as a default and thus groups that don't fit some/all of those descriptors often feel marginalized, unwelcome, or even harassed becasue of their differences.

For example, many gay people I know feel uncomfortable making any kind of romantic/sexual gestures/inquiries towards someone of the same sex in a "regular" bar, whereas it would be perfectly acceptable for any straight person to do so.

I've been plowing through Mass Effect 1/2, and having quite a bit of fun, but I just hit a wall. I just quit having a desire to play, it feels like a chore when I do, and I suddenly just don't feel anything for the story. This isn't how I usually feel from being burnt out, this is a flat lack of interest. And to think, I bought this bundle for them...
